Head-cannon:

They’re mafiosi–modern mafiosi. And I’ve concluded that their job description isn’t too far off from businessmen. (This conclusion comes from watching Italian Mafia documentaries and in no way 100% accurate nor do I claim so). But imagine them sitting down to discuss how to handle Italy’s trash problem or the mafia’s tendency to recruit the poor and vulnerable. Hibari and Mukuro aren’t at each other’s throats, although they still sit as far away as possible, because this isn’t about them. It’s about protecting those who have no power to do so. And Tsuna made it very clear from the start that he doesn’t give a shit about mafia theatrics–he wants to protect. And as rowdy as the 10th gen guardians are, they’re his guardians (Friends) for a reason.

The future we saw in the TYL arc is vastly different from the future that will actually be–I’m sure of it. The fact that Mukuro was freed speaks for itself.

Uh. Also. I really like the idea of khr with real-life elements thrown into it here and there.
