I’m viewing my dragons for the first time on a new work-issued Macbook and by golly so many of them are ass-ugly. This just goes to show you that monitor settings matter a lot when it comes to picking out dragon colors.

I wish there was a way to transfer all of these plant points into the other ones because I have almost no dragons that eat plants.

One reason I haven’t gotten back into Shy Spirals yet is because these genes intimidates the hell outta me.

For everyone saying FR needs to hire a coder let me run down the cost of one.

So everyone keeps yelling and screaming, we need more coders! But get this, coders cost money. Lots of it. Coding in general is one of the most wanted jobs around, meaning that if you’re not willing to give them the money they need they’ll just turn around and get a better offer. 

So how much does a coder cost? This is a rough estimate taken from a few sites (In other words, give or take a few $1000s) but the cost of a web coder, per year, with 2 years experience is  $75,000 Let me put that in lingo you guys can understand. That’s 7,500,000 gems/ 4,125,000,000T/ 3750 Breed Change: Coatl scrolls/ or about 214 light sprites. (See bottom for footnotes.) This amount makes kickstarter items look like leafy moths.

Ok fine, even though slightly messy coding is partly why we’re in this mess let’s go ahead and hire someone fresh out of school.  That’ll be $55,000 a year please.

I’m pretty sure we wanted to hire the extra coder so things go faster but ok. Sure. Let’s have a 1/4 time new grad coder. If we assume somehow everything just fits in to place moneywise that’s  $13,750 a year.

At 1,375,000 gems/ 756,250,000 T/ 687 coatl scrolls (With 1000 gems left over)/~39 light sprites Which isn’t too shabby expect for the fact we have just missed out on the 2 things we wanted out of a coder, that being speed and less chances of bugs.

So before you yell “Coder!” remember this post, and remember that this isn’t even touching the cost of keeping their server up or artists.

*The gem prices are simplified in this 100 gems = $1. As gems can be earned via daily site activities and from just logging on 100 gems < $1.

* The Light sprite is going to be considered at it’s current lowest marketplace value of 35000 gems for this.

*T to G ratio is around 550 to 1 right now.

The numbers here are blowing my mind because I’ve been working as a professional web developer (”coder”) for 6 years and I still only get paid $37,000/year, LOL. I guess I need to find a better employer.

You need one with experience, imo. Inexperienced code leads to vulnerabilities leads to hacking leads to kissing your pet site goodbye.

CRIPES. Two eggs this morning from Scavenging!!! I guess it's safe to say that I am not allowed to bitch about this event anymore. :P

No, instead I'll bitch about that hideous gathering system. It's amusing how dramatic the change in chest frequency is from level 20 to level 21. At level 20 I was getting between 15 - 20 chests daily, but as soon as I hit 21, that number changed to 0 - 5. Crazy.
