I WANT ONE
Superiority, 2016
This collection of collages challenges the thought of racial superiority. To the average American, the upper ruling class may be said Caucasian. To the person who knows history, this notion may not foresee the future.
What if the tables were flipped? What if the Black population were the superior group as far as social/class structures are concerned. Whites the minority? What if racism was an entity held by the opposing group? Some may even ask WHEN the tables flip or argue that Whites ARE the minority.
Wherever your thoughts lie, never forget to question and challenge. Ask yourself, “What can I be doing to dismantle racism?”

MIKE LEAVITT – KING CUTS ART SHOW AT JONATHAN LEVINE GALLERY
If you appear to be in New York in the next few days, you don’t want to miss this incredible art show atJonathan Levine Gallery. Sculptor artist Mike Leavitt pays tribute to the most incredible movie directors through gorgeous hand made wood sculpture. From James Cameron to Steven Spielberg, from Hitchcock to Woody Allen and Orson Welles, Mike Leavitt carved those amazing directors’ stories directly through their bodies.
“Great film directors get cut up. They take pains with the details, story, money and sacrifices to their vision. Their body succumbs to the pressure. So Mike Leavitt carved Tarantino, Kubrick, Scorsese and more physically consumed by their work. Hitchcock, Coppola and others are cut from blocks of wood like directors cut a take or reel. There’s a risk of mistakes with every slice. Directors commit to a story at every cut. Leavitt unmasks wizards behind the camera like Spielberg and David Lynch to get a taste of their own medicine. ‘King Cuts’ are totems of satire and devotion to the 16 best storytellers ever.”
Amazing work.
