Description: I made installation in the office room in the gallery. I put found objects, which are from street, latex office, studio or somewhere around me, all together. With found objects that have each histories of other spaces, the office in the middle of art gallery is getting lose its identity. Also, through blurred window, the juxtaposition of two movies ㅡAlice in the Wonderland(screen) and Inception(sound) ㅡ makes people more confused. What makes the place as it is? It’s possible to be called as many places with lots of evidences ㅡphysically office, street or restaurant based on the history that found objects have, Wonderland or in dream through the media.

Title: Cleaning

Medium: Cleaning tools(broom, mop, toothbrush, mask, rubber gloves), Panel, Paint

Description: I cleaned a panel with broom, mop, rag and tooth brush wearing rubber gloves and mask. This work is about the process of my instinctive cleaning. A dictionary definition of cleaning is “the act of making something clean.” However, In my work, Cleaning as a dictionary definition is totally reversed. It became more and more dirty as I tried cleaning. Using paints with a found object, panel, which reminds me a canvas or paper, the result of cleaning looks like someone’s painting or artwork rather than the result of being cleaned. Also, the audiences can watch the slightly modified video on TV which the record of doing cleaning. I tried investigating that the non-artistic behavior of cleaning could be regarded as an artwork.

I could find many white (or yellow) signs on the street that inform people something. It seems to be interesting to change the signs little bit. Because most people usually don't care about street signs well, I don't know if they could realize my edited signs.
