High Society (1995-1996)—“Dorothy ‘Dott’ Emerson” Mary McDonnell: Oh, my God, so much fun! The most ridiculously great clothes. Ridiculously great clothes! Jean Smart is one of the funniest women on the planet. Even when we weren’t doing what we were supposed to be doing, we made each other laugh. The writers were fun. It was so much fun. Really, there’s a couple of things in my life that didn’t work out the way I thought or hoped they would have. I think that show, had it been given just a little bit more time, would’ve turned, broken through the glass, and stayed there for awhile. And that’s too bad that it didn’t. But it was, honestly, one of my favorite little gigs.
