Charlie Chaplin celebrates his 77th birthday during the production of his final film A Countess From Hong Kong (1967), of which he also wrote, produced and directed in 1966. Footage shows Charlie’s wife, Oona and two of his daughters, Victoria and Josephine, as well as his son, Sydney, who had a part in the film. Co-stars, Sophia Loren and Tippi Hedren, and her daughter, Melanie Griffith, were also in attendance. (x)

Charlie Chaplin shot this scene in 1928 early in the production of “City Lights”, it was ultimately discarded. He was exploring what the blind girl might imagine her benefactor (the tramp) looked like, perhaps a gentleman of wealth or nobility.
