Duuuuuuude! I just wanted to drop by and say I love your writing and I just reread Life on Shuffle and I would truly pay to have the story completed! Haha and I say that as a compliment and no pressure at all! Totes get that other exciting projects and life happens. Hope you’re well and one day we’ll get to see how Chloe deals with having finally kissed (37-yr old) Beca. Haha I do kinda want to see how present Beca finds out cos I do love a jealous Mitchell. Book Drafting Accountability post!

Started a new manuscript over break and setting a goal to finish the draft by March 1. Will post updated word counts for myself along the way. Hoping having somewhere to publicly post my progress helps with motivation. Let's goooo!

Dec 22-Dec 31 = 13,528 words

Jan 1 = 2,813 words (total = 16,341)

Jan 2 = 2, 441 words (total = 18,782)

Jan 3 = 3,799 words (total = 22,581)

Jan 4 = 929 words (total 23,510)

Busy day today prepping to go back to work tomorrow. Hoping I can keep up a slow and steady pace.

Jan 10 = After touching base with my literary agent, I spent the (exhausting!!) week working back through ch 1-7 and editing all the things I needed to change to move forward. Hoping to pick back up with drafting in a day or two!

Jan 25 = I decided to start over in a new tense and POV. Writing books is fun 🤡

Feb 1 = 20,659 words. Almost back to where I was when I decided to start over! So glad I made the decision to swap to 1 present vs 3 past. Worth the restart for sure. Juuust keep swimming...

Mar 30 = 37,665 words. Took a few weeks away from drafting to wait for feedback from my literary agent on ch 1-8 (since I never sent her an adult project with smut before!!) and thankfully she loved it! Then the flu knocked me out for 2 weeks.

Anyway, back in the saddle! Revised first 8 chapters again with her notes in mind, now continuing on. Starting on Chapter 11 today, will hit the midpoint of the story between 40k-45k words, right on target. 🎯

Trying to get as many words in while I'm off this week for spring break.

April 1 = 40,080 words. Cracked 40k, woohoo! Unfortunately this means the (very normal and expected but still shitty) feeling that everything is horrible and needs to be set on fire and I'll never finish anyway is setting in. Drafting is haaaaarrrdddd.

April 5 = 43, 890 words total. This week off for Spring Break I wrote a total of 11,284 words (3.5 chapters/43 new pages). Pretty okay with my progress. We're halfway to a full draft!

April 18 = 50,762 words. Cracked 50k!! Finally!! Still trying to sort the rest of my plot as I go but I have the major beats down in my head, so we're playing connect the dots.

July 2 = 65, 419 words. Finally on summer break after a hellish/stressful school year so I can really buckle down and finish this draft over the next six weeks. Lfg!! 🤞🤞🤞🤞

July 9 = First draft COMPLETE at 82, 730 words.

Taking a long weekend break before diving into revisions.
