I got a little nostalgic for The Sims 3 today, so I loaded up the premade Hemlock family. Their toddler, Belisama, was being a general terror. I couldn’t put her in the crib because she kept playing in the toy box and the parents, Morrigan and Wogan, kept having pathing errors. I hit “Read to Sleep” and Morrigan managed to pick Belisama up and put her in the crib. THEN THIS HAPPENED. It ended with her reverting to her normal sim-toddler-self, but OH MY GOD SIMS 3 WHAT ARE YOU DOING???
Last time I checked, goats weren’t known for their cooking. Eating tin cans maybe, but not making pies that a single piece of can restore all of your health. That makes Toriel, the motherly anthropomorphic goat woman who dwells in The Ruins in Undertale, a very special goat.
I was a bit dubious about this one at first, but the second it was finished and photographed, half of the pie mysteriously disappeared into our mouths. It’s sweet without being overwhelming and the cinnamon whipped cream gives it a delicious little kick. I actually made a tart rather than a pie, because it’s easier to finish a slightly smaller slice of tart rather than a huge gooey piece of pie. If you’d like to have it as a proper pie, just use a pre-made pie shell. Recipe under the cut!
So today started off with Saint and Arnold getting married. Candy threw some serious shade in the background because 3 kids wasn’t enough for Saint to commit to her. Naturally, Arnold got pregnant. Saint proceeded to cheat on her with Candy. Slaps all around. Saint convinced Candy to break up with her husband and then broke up with her. Hollie drank while questioning her son’s morals. Baby was born and grew up into a cute blue 25% alien. Candy cried in the closet multiple times.
A standard day in the life of Saint Moon involves meeting more of the children he’s fathered, having a romp in the closet with his second cousin, panicking over another baby mama going into labor, proposing to his second cousin, and then promptly cheating on her with the mother of three of his children.
In case you missed my Hunger Games featuring Harry Potter characters tonight, here are the highlights. Snape and Hagrid had a simultaneous drowning. Luna miraculously learned how to avoid passing out and swam the entire length of the arena 3 times more than she should have been able to without drowning. Voldemort got mortified and tried to drown himself in the tub. Harry came down with some weird spotty sickness... and then promptly drowned, leaving Voldemort and Luna as survivors. www.twitch.tv/yellingkimber
So, today on the Survivor Challenge (designed so everybody is supposed to live), 4 sims died of starvation. RIP Hermione, Voldemort, Hagrid, and Harry. Luna proceeded to use her immunity to attempt to make grilled cheese. The entire house burned down, she died, and then the Grim Reaper did some push-ups and played blic block...
But can we talk about how gorgeous Mulan ended up being? I think she might be my prettiest sim yet. Like dayum gurl how’d you get so pretty- oh wait, I made you.
Background: I adapted this challenge to be a combination of EmilyJud's Sims 2 Survivor Challenge from modthesims and Windseelee’s Survivor Island Challenge from The Sims Forums.
The Story: Similar to the CBS show Survivor, 8 sims are stranded on an island for 8 days. They’re left to fend for themselves and forced to work together to live in their new society of outdoor living and close quarters. This is a challenge about adapting to less-than-ideal circumstances. The sims have to adapt to their new lifestyle by gaining skills. Each day, one sim is eliminated from the competition. If you stream this challenge, viewers can vote to see who is eliminated. If you don’t stream it, the Sim who gains the fewest skill points can be eliminated. The last sim standing wins 1,000,000 Simoleons.
The Setup: For this challenge, you need 8 sims. Gender does not matter. They should be living on the biggest lot of whichever world you prefer. My preference is Oakenstead in Oasis Springs. Place the lot “Survival Island” by Windseelee on the lot and build a luxury house on the back end for the winner of immunity challenges.
If you choose not to use this lot, you should place 2 tents, 2 cots, and 2 chairs for the sims to sleep in. There should not be a shower. Instead, make a large swimming pool surrounding the perimeter of the lot to take care of hygiene and fitness skills. Place a fire pit with stumps for them to sit around. Add a motion gaming rig to distract sims from taking care of themselves. Then, place various skill building items around the lot. The luxury house on the back half of the lot can contain anything you want.
The Rules:
- All sims must be young adults or adults
- You may not control any sims unless you are doing an Immunity Challenge
- If a sim refuses to participate in the Immunity Challenge, you may not attempt to queue up the challenge again
- If a sim quits an Immunity Challenge midway through, you cannot queue up the action to have them continue.
- No traveling via the map
- If a sim dies, you may not delete their grave or place it in the family inventory
- No jobs
- Immune sims are allowed into the Luxury House for 24 hours (11:59 pm the day they win a challenge to 11:59 pm the next day)
The Schedule:
Day 1: The first day has no immunity challenges. Instead, Sims spend the first 24 hours building up skills and/or relationships and getting used to life on the island.
Day 2: 8 sims remaining. At 12 pm, the first Immunity Challenge takes place. Set up 8 bonsai trees and have the sims groom the plant. The sim with the best looking tree is immune from elimination that day. At 11:59 pm, one sim is eliminated and the immune sim is allowed into the Luxury House (lock door for everyone but that sim).
Day 3: 7 sims remaining. At 12 pm, the second Immunity Challenge takes place. Have all 7 sims paint a picture. The sim that paints the picture worth the most money wins the challenge and is immune from elimination that day. At 11:59 pm, one sim is eliminated and the immune sim is allowed into the Luxury House
Day 4: 6 sims remaining. At 12 pm, the third Immunity Challenge takes place. Have all 6 sims craft a Horse Head at the woodworking table. The sim that makes the horse head that sells for the most money wins. If multiple sims make a horse head that sells for the same price, all of those sims gain immunity and access to the Luxury House. As usual, 11:59 pm is time for elimination and allowing immune sim(s) into the Luxury House.
Day 5: 5 sims remaining. At 12 pm, the fourth Immunity Challenge takes place. Have all 5 sims head to the outskirts of the lot to fish for 4 hours. If the fish become too skilled for your sim, head to another spot to fish on the lot. The sim that catches the most simoleons worth of fish wins the challenge. As usual, 11:59 pm is time for elimination and allowing the immune sim into the Luxury House.
Day 6: 4 sims remaining. At 12 pm, the fifth Immunity Challenge takes place. Have all four sims “look for frogs” in logs spawned on the lot. The sim that finds the most expensive frog wins the challenge. As usual, 11:59 pm is time for elimination and allowing the immune sim into the Luxury House.
Day 7: 3 sims remaining. At 12 pm, the second Immunity Challenge takes place. Have all three sims “dig” 1 rock each on the lot. Open any time capsules. The sim that finds the most expensive item wins the challenge. As usual, 11:59 pm is time for elimination and allowing the immune sim into the Luxury House.
Day 8: 2 sims remaining. At 12 pm, have the 2 remaining sims play a game of horseshoe. The sim who wins gets a +2 skill bonus. Count up each sim’s skill points. Add +2 points to the sim that won the horseshoe challenge. The sim with the most skill points is the winner of the challenge. Cue bells, whistles, fireworks, and 1,000,000 simoleons :)
