not to make everything about buddie but we’re seeing buck go on a date, discover his sexuality, and somehow eddie is so involved in it all? we know from the stills that there are a ton of buddie scenes this episode, we know he (loudly) interrupts buck and tommy’s date.. last episode was about buck liking tommy but for 90% of it all he was obsessing over eddie instead. if you’re trying to introduce other ships and lead your watchers away from buddie, then why are they so involved with each other all the time? because they’re soulmates, exactlyyyyy.

at first i thought the new episode was gonna be about buck being jealous of tommy befriending eddie. then the first sneak peek had me believe it was gonna be more about buck and tommy and that buck would be jealous of eddie. now the second sneak peek has me thinking it’s the first scenario again. in conclusion, i am so lost.

not gonna lie this episode threw my emotions around like a ragdoll and for a minute there i was on the floor but i’m back up and ready to keep going.

because yes buck may have poured his heart out like a giggling schoolgirl but none of that felt genuine. “she sees me.” sure, she may see you. but it honest to god sounds like he’s talking about a therapy session. if they really wanted to drive the point home of her seeing him, they would have shown this to us. would have put her in eddie’s shoes at the graveyard. how are you gonna introduce a love interest and then absolutely wipe her out of existence with such a beautiful heartfelt buddie scene??

and that’s not even talking about eddie in this scene. coming back to the interview about ryan’s subtle acting. well this was subtle alright. and i’m 99% convinced eddie just realised he’s in love with his best friend. pining era ?! 🫣 and linking this back to oliver’s interview where he said buck is not going to change himself for anyone .. sounds a lot like “you don’t have to be anything for anybody.” you don’t have to be the guy that came back from the dead for natalia to like you

so if this is all not intentional the writers are just doing a bad job, but i choose to believe in them for now even if it kills me.

something about the way this is worded doesn’t convince me at all. buck considers a new(?) relationship with her (someone he has just met) as he has been given a second chance at life. to me that screams; he meets someone that understands his experience with death and that leads him to consider something more with her.

but let’s be real here .. buck is a main character and for a potential long lasting relationship to be described as a new relationship that he simply considers?? nah that doesn’t sound like it’ll be an actual big thing to me. i could be wrong but that’s my theory. i also think it would be a bit of a weird thing to have buck fall for someone who’s supposed to support him mentally because we all know buck is very sensitive to that. especially after what happened in season one 😵‍💫.

my guess is that buck is very interested in her because of her experience with death and that she might even brush off the romantic part of this relationship and give him what he really needs, which is a way for him to deal with the fact that he died.

( now something about buck getting to deal with his recent death in this episode and eddie and chris going to shannon’s grave?? that’s all an awful lot about death and it makes me think that this might spark some realisations. )
