A few things about: Loneliness
i. being lonely isn’t bad. we’re hardwired to want touch and emotional connection. being lonely is human.
ii. everyone is lonely. the girl on the bus. the guy who’s posting his amazing life on instagram. the celebrity, the friend, the parent, the popular, the shy, the cat, everybody. yet few people would admit it or even say the word. no one is too good for loneliness.
iii. loneliness isn’t something bad. avoiding it is like avoiding sadness or anger; it will manifest into addiction, desperate attempts at crumbs of connection. feel loneliness in its purest form. maybe it’s an ache, a thirst in your throat, a colour of anxiety. sit with it. mother it.
iv: when you’re lonely and truly have no one, everything will be warmth. everything will be a friend. from the houseplant you’re nurturing, to the chamomile tea in your body, your bed, the guitar in your arms. this too is a full life. a good one. a precious one.
v. loneliness will tell you to reach out. that you’re okay and it’s a matter of timing. or it will tell you you’re repulsive, unloveable and weird. loneliness is a child, an emotion. it tries to make sense of its painful situation with both truth and lies. not everything should be believed. but not everything is unwise.
vi: your needs are important, and if you can’t reach out to a physical being, reach out into an outlet: music, writing, art, nature. make your mugs and pillows your friend. make your books your friend. if it comforts you, have it in your life as much as possible.
Hi Mary! It's been a while! I hope you're well.
Rainbow baby anon here. Last I messaged was 2021 saying my little boy had been born.
He's 2.5 now! He got glasses this week- turns out his eyesight is very bad. I expected it, both myself and my husband wear glasses but I didn't think it would be this bad. But apart from his eyes he's doing very very well! He's advanced in a lot of things- proud mama alert! He's hard work but so worth it.
I hope you're living your best life with your pets and your books. I'm slowly working my way through a huge tbr of 27 books my husband got me for Christmas (he made me a book advent calendar! Lots of charity shop/ second hand books but a few new including fourth wing!) but you can bet I'll be scrolling through your page for book recommendations ❤️
Hiiiii! ❤️❤️
He's so big!! I'm so glad to hear that he's doing well, eye sight aside. 🥳 you sound happy and that's wonderful!
I'm not around much these days, but i still ocassionally post about the books I'm reading 😊
Thank you for checking in and i'm sending all the love and hugs in the world 🤗🤗
good morning world :) ♥

Awwwww-ters!
One of nature’s most social and playful creatures, river otters have big personalities and even bigger appetites. Otters most often eat fish, frogs and crawfish, but will also consume worms, insects, mice, bird eggs, nestlings, crabs, and more.
Often seen in groups, or romps, they can be observed hunting and frolicking year-round at Grand Teton National Park. Most of the year, they are active at night, dawn or dusk but they become more diurnal during the winter. Observing them is a rare treat.

Stories shared by Tribal communities, especially those of the Great Plains and Black Hills region, indicate that the Tower was and still is a sacred site.
Many Tribes still utilize the park for traditional ceremonies. Visitors will observe prayer cloths and prayer bundles attached to trees around the park, especially along the Tower Trail. These represent a tangible connection which Native people still maintain with this area. Please do not touch, disturb, or photograph these cloths.
Connections to this place are as important today as they were for generations before it became Devil’s Tower National Monument.

Pro tip: If your friend asks if you want to run the 40-mile Teton Crest Trail… Do it. 🤩 It will blow your mind.
