People who bake regularly, how do you store tall cakes? I made a carrot cake this weekend and my usual, invert a large bowl over top and put it in the fridge is not ideal. You can see below where it fucked up my frosting.

I had a really nice and encouraging appointment with the fertility clinic I was referred to. It was the opposite of the feelings I got going through the questionnaires and informational materials they provided to me beforehand.

My mom is watching my niece now that my sister is back at work. I FaceTimed with them this morning and it was such a treat. She’s 14 weeks old now and so cute! I think she looks so much like my sister and me when we were babies but with green/hazel eyes instead of brown.

It’s that time of year again, when our yard is crazy with wildflowers.

We have continued to be unsuccessful on the baby front. So far things all look normal which is frustrating. I’m not willing to do IVF, too expensive and invasive (I understand actual pregnancy is not a walk in the park but it’s different). I do have an appointment scheduled at a fertility clinic later this month which I’ll go to.

It does bum me out but there are many life upsides. And I have nieces and nephews and friends’ babies/kids that I love. Also, I think we’re gonna start fostering dogs lol. I’ve wanted a dog for so long but it didn’t really make sense when we were working to bring something else into our to care for but since that’s not happening, bring on the dogs.
