#WayBackWednesday (That's a thing, right?!) to the original #DayWithoutImmigrants in the Spring of 2006. This was taken in #GrantPark in #DowntownChicago as more than 250,000 people gathered in #solidarity to show our support for our immigrant friends, family, neighbors, fellow students & coworkers. I remember being in my first color photography class at #ColumbiaCollegeChicago & raising my hand to ask why we were in class when across the street history was being made. My professor replied that anyone who wanted to go photograph the rally could leave as long as they brought back images to show everyone elsewere. That was one of the most memorable days of my life... and yes photo students, I see that color cast. ;) #CCC #DayWithoutImmigrantsChicago (at Grant Park)

Made it to #Hicksville in #Idyllwild w/ @gypsy_jen. Our #DollyParton themed room has a pretty amazing view of #MountSanJacinto & all I can think about when looking at it is how I'll be hiking over that fucker in less than two months on the #PacificCrestTrail but still super happy to spend this #vacay time with Jen. w/ about 99.5% of everything I need ready to go I'm hovering around a 22lb #baseweight (all my gear not including food, water, bear canister or ice axe - or cool #SafariHat [that's on the way]). Not too shabby for my first go 'round.
