AUGUST'S CHALLENGE: CREATURE FEATURE
It looks like the heat of summer isn't just drawing denizens out of their homes, but all sorts of critters, too. It's the perfect opportunity for curious sparks to run into some of New Yesteryear's most unusual fauna... or for curious fauna to run into you. This month, Sparks can be on the lookout for:
Glacier's Peak has been having a bit of a Dragon problem lately. Not the big ones, mind you - just common house beasts. It is however known that they do tend to hoard shiny things, making birdlike nests out of necklaces and other objects that may have caught their prying eyes. In order to assist, a map of common dragon nest locations has been set up. If you wish to retrieve an object you have lost, or assist someone else in doing so, it is very encouraged. NOTE: Archduchess Temperance does not condone holding other residents items hostage - however, she also notes she will do nothing to stop you.
ENCOY's production line seems to have had a bit of a hiccup. The small mechanical mouse-like creatures (apty named munchies) built to pick up trash have now overrun the city's streets. While it's not a dangerous problem by any means, once they run out of trash to eat, they may get an appetite for the buildings instead. They have always liked their metal, you know. Administrator Chariot will be very appreciative of whoever wants to take on the task of rounding them up.,
The annual Sunset's End rodeo is here, set up just outside of the Devil's Loop. Residents get in free of charge, and Sparks from other factions will only have to pay a small fee for month-long access to "horse" riding, dragon wrangling, and plenty of drinks, food, and games. The Hanged Man can be found all over throughout the duration of the festivities.,
During the day, Luctenmire has become somewhat of a ghost town. The locals, barricading themselves inside their homes, seem to disappear for daylight's duration since the fauna bleedover. Unicorns and the monstrous great foxes rush in from the Afterglow and flood the streets; ravens dart and cover the skies like arrows. When they rest at night, the city lights up, a wide faire illuminated by amethyst torchfire selling various artisanal goods of all kinds. Those uninterested in the market are invited to lend their strength to another cause: named the Skullhunters, these fighters banded together to hunt down the elusive Werewolf with torches and pitchforks, whose appearances throughout town have become more frequent and violent. P.S.: The Luctenmire Beach Volleyball Tournament to be held in a week will still happen. Additional safety measures will be put in place as to defend participants from the Kraken.
REQUIREMENT: 3 posts OR 300 words. Posts must involve direct interaction with an animal of any variety to qualify (this challenge is not exclusive to just the creatures and activites listed here).
