Good Morning Reading Rainbow Family & Good Morning Reading Rainbow World!

@Cyn & @Gavin  You are right people are still pledging. Some people didn't know about the KS until after it ended, while others had their own reasons for pledging later. The MAJOR POINT is, this campaign is NOT over...this is the beginning of a much larger campaign that WE must ALL participate in. We all want to participate in investing in a better future for people all over the world. By investing in Reading Rainbow, we are able to gift "a love of reading" and a gift like this, really keeps on giving. We are empowering kids with the desire to learn for themselves and that is the first step to a greater future for all of us.

When I use Twitter, Facebook, emails, face-to-face meetings or other social media tools to inform people about Reading Rainbow's return, they joyously reply and want to find out if they CAN HELP TOO! For example, I entered the Twitter world on June 1, 2014 just so that I could help spread the word about RR and in under 2 moths 640+ followers want to follow OUR RR story & they want to join OUR RR Family. WE support each other in many different ways and it is a wonderful experience for ALL of US. WE are a part of something HUGE and we can make this a WORLD-CHANGING-PROJECT by WORLD-CHANGING-PEOPLE who SUPPORT WORLDWIDE CHILDHOOD LITERACY.

We should all keep spreading the word because there are a lot of WORLD-CHANGING-PEOPLE who want to HELP Reading Rainbow HELP KIDS! Some help with the gift of money, some help with their gift of gab, some with their talents, some with social media, some with...(YOU CAN fill in the rest WITH YOUR GIFT of CHOICE! :>)

Reading Rainbow teams up with My Little Pony illustrator Katie Cook

Katie Cook has chosen to participate, for free, in the bring back READING RAINBOW 2015 CALENDAR for their KickStarter campaign.(http://kck.st/1hy6EE7)

In fact, she is so committed to helping Reading Rainbow reach more underfunded schools that she also agreed to donate FIVE SIGNED PRINTS of the original work that she has created for the calendar, which they will be introducing in new, higher-level reward tiers next week!

For Future Kids: Star Trek Friends team up to bring Reading Rainbow back as they read stories to kids and inspire their magical worlds of imagination.

By now you might have realized that I am one of the 82k+ backers of the Reading Rainbow KickStar campaign. I had to join tumbler because I just can’t keep all of this happiness in anymore. I want to share some of the wonderful things that are going on with the KickStarter.

As you may or may not know, LeVar Burton is trying to bring Reading Rainbow back, and to as many children as possible. He and his RR team developed an app for the iPad and Kindle (after the show was cancelled), but realized that those platforms are not accessible for the majority of children. He started a Kickstarter campaign to raise $$ to get funding to create a desktop based program and to deliver the program to 1500 classrooms in need. The campaign EASILY reached their initial goal in the first day, but announced a stretch goal of $5M to have funds to develop apps for many many platforms (PS4? Android? Wii U? XBox?) and to give it away (free) to 7500 classrooms.

I loved this program as a child and I continue to have a passion for reading. I don’t have any children of my own, but I think it’s important to instill the love of reading (and imagination) in our children.
