This is my bestfriend. On Oct. 21 a couple hours before noon he was going around a curve on a wet road and flipped his car 5 times and a fence post broke his neck. He died on impact. We never took many photos together or got all sappy about how much we cared for one another because we figured we would always have tomorrow to do it. I am here to tell you all that sometimes you don’t. Out of nowhere he was ripped away from me and let me tell you, every single day I grieve him. I miss how he would playfully insult me, I miss the days I would leave my piece of shit ex’s house and pull in his driveway and talk till 2am about life and its challenges, but more importantly about how things would be okay. Eventually. Since he has been gone I have learned more about life than I EVER thought I would. It taught me that even through the anger, irritation, sadness and bad days that you really do need to pause and look around and savor it. I wish we had more photos and videos together but we don’t. Thankfully I will cherish the memories and hold them tight. What im saying is, take the seemingly pointless goofy snapchat videos. Close your eyes while you’re in that blunt rotation. They might laugh and look at you a little weird but tell them, tell them you fucking love them. Tell them you care and appreciate them. Let them know you cherish them as part of your world. Fucking tell them. I know my bestfriend knew all these things without me having to say it, but that’s not the point. The point is you’ll never know when your last moments with someone will be, and because of that, appreciate all of them. Every single moment. Take today and let the ones you love know. Please. I’d give anything in this world just to hear him laugh again. Please, im begging you. Do not wait till it is too late. I love you man, I hope you’re resting easy. I promise i’ll never let your memory fade. He only got 17 years. So ill live the rest of mine for the both of us.
