Andrea took a deep breath, trying to ignore Miranda’s presence right across them. And of course, that was right when their eyes met through the glass. It was for a short second, until Miranda’s eyes focused back on Andrea’s office just as her focus left, noticing the extra figure in it. Not just in the office too, but on Andrea’s desk.
The figure stayed unfamiliar to Miranda, Andrea could tell by the narrowing of her eyes, and the curious tilt of her head. An icy feeling spread down Andrea’s spine, and her heart dropped into her stomach as she watched Miranda’s shoulders stiffen, yet the way her expression hardened wasn’t at all unfamiliar. “Not today. Sorry, Janice. You really should leave now-“
“Oh come on, Andy. I’m starting to think you didn’t enjoy our night together as much as I did.” Janice teased with a wink.
“Janice, this really isn’t the place or time.”
Miranda was going to murder her, somehow Andrea’s alpha could sense it. ‘Her’ in question could be Andrea, or just as well Janice. Slowly. Painfully. She was going to— oh.
As the doom was expected, it was that exact moment Miranda’s nostrils flared, eyes flashing for a second, before turning to Nigel with a blank face. Janice, however, either was too stupid to notice the subtle exchange of looks, or just didn’t care. Her lips curled up in a condescending smirk as she leaned forward, her hand sliding up Andrea’s arm.
She had a death wish. An actual death wish.
