@ygo-decks-blog
I lost it at Shang “paid”
Would you want to duel sometime? My name on DN is snakevenom56. I mostly run Dragon decks of my own creation that I have in real life. My main one is focused on getting out rank 8 XYZ dragons buy using hieratics, but it also contains cards like cyber dragon, hydrogeddon and Galaxy-eyes normal.
ah, I haven't updated in a long time as I've honestly just forgotten about it, but yeah I'll duel - my user is ChaoBall. I have a couple of different decks, and I'm testing some atm
Splashables: Part 1
YGO Decks is back (hopefully for a longer time) and now with more YGO knowledge! Since my last post, I've become a much better duelist, and hopefully I can help the people who read this blog better... But anyways, we're gonna talk about splashable cards.
My definition of splashable cards are any cards that you can put in just about any deck and make that deck better. These segments will be about the best (I think) examples of these cards, and how they help your deck.
In Depth Look #2: Constellar Ptolemys Messier 7
"2 level 6 monsters
You can Xyz Summon this monster by using 1 face-up "Constellar" Xyz Monster you control, except "Constellar Ptolemys Messier 7", as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials of this card.) This card's effect cannot be activated the turn it is Special Summoned this way. Once per turn, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster on the field or in a Graveyard; return that target to its owner's hand."
Before I start, sorry for not posting in a while! I actually do have some material right now, but I'm still kind of fiddling with the deck... So we'll see how a review of a card I really like to use in it works out.
The card in question is Constellar Ptolemys Messier 7.
He's got a pretty neat effect - the first being that you can special summon him by overlaying him on top of a Constellar XYZ you have already on the field, and the second and most important being that you can detach one material to add a monster on the field or the grave to the hand.
However, there's a lot of controversy about that effect - so let's clear up the first thing usually brought into question by people who just skim his effect:
The only time he can not activate his effect the turn he is summoned is when he overlays himself on top of a Constellar XYZ. This does not apply if he is summoned normally by overlaying two level 6 monsters.
Now that that's out of the way, let's get into his effect a little more.
Since he gets rid of a material as a cost, it IS in the graveyard first. However, since it is a cost, normally you would have to select another target. There is an exception, however. If Constellar Ptolemys is the only monster on the field and the card you sent to the graveyard as a cost is the only monster in the graveyard, you CAN return the monster you sent as cost back to your hand. I would assume that this is because the effect says "field or graveyard", and since there technically is something in the graveyard, there is that option. In any other case, however, you're going to have to select another target.
Coming past those complications however, what uses does it really have? Let's look at one big thing: it can return a monster from either side of the field or either graveyard back to the hand. This means it's really easy to get your destroyed or used monsters back from the Graveyard. For example, should you be running something like Frog Monarchs, you can fish out a Caius or Raiza from your grave and put it right back into your hand. Nifty, right?
This also works well in Hieratics, if you aren't already using him - he can add Tefnuit back, too, in preparation of something such as a dark hole or whatever would be destroying your monsters. Really, he can just add any monster you need back to your hand. If you have the potential to make this monter easily, put him in your Extra Deck if you've got space.
Just the fact that he can add monsters from your graveyard to the hand is really huge. For one last example, if somebody had to waste a Dark Hole or whatnot to get rid of your pesky BLS, guess what Ptolemys does? Adds him right back to your hand.
So anyways, I'd give this big guy a shot - especially if you need some more ways to get stuff back to your hand.
Firestars are pretty cool.
They work really well with Lavals and Flamvells - it's the only three-archetype deck I can think of that works well.
Anyways, these are all the new decks I've been fiddling with:
-Firestars
-Spellcaster Lockdown
- Trap-spam Gladiators
Sorry for not posting, there's just not that much new material to cover at the moment!
Hmm.
Anybody else hate that Ariel isn't used that often in Gishkis? Of course, I'm probably just thinking this since I use Gusto and in spite of myself not liking yuri I still like Winda x Ariel.
(help)
In Depth Look #1: Ojama Country
Ojama Country is probably one of the best field spell any archetype can have to itself. You can abuse this card very easily and very well - but how would you do that? There are quite a few examples.
The first effect of Ojama Country is that you can send an "Ojama" card from your hand to the graveyard to special summon an "Ojama" monster from your grave. "Ojamagic" is the card you should be sending to the graveyard to special summon an Ojama. What happens there is once Ojamagic is sent, its effect triggers and lets you add Yellow, Black, and Green to your hand from your deck, AND you get to special summon any Ojama from your graveyard! Since there's no level limit to this effect, you could get Ojama King back and automatically have a 3000 beater due to Ojama Country's second effect:
While there is an "Ojama" on the field, the attack and defense of all monsters is switched. This can really ruin a lot of big strong monsters your opponent controls and buff up your monsters. Myself, I like to use cards such as Gachi Gachi Gantetsu and Big Shield Gardna to fully take advantage of this effect.
So how can you take the best advantage of this card? There are quite a few ways, but these two would be the best depending on the situation -
The "OTK Way" - At least Ojama Red, Ojamagic, and Ojama Delta Hurricane in hand, and Ojama Country on the field. Country's effect, send Ojamagic, add Yellow, Black, and Green, special summon your Ojama - preferably Ojama King, but he's not necessary. Next, Normal Summon Ojama Red, use its effect to special summon yellow, black, and green from your hand. Since you have them out on the field, use Ojama Delta Hurricane and nuke your opponent's field. Now, if you have 5 non-fusion ojamas on your field, you can currently do 5000 damage. But, if you overlay for two Gachi Gachi Gantetsu, all of your monsters will gain 800 attack.
So, you'll have 2 2600 monsters on the field, and 1 1800 monster. With that, you can do 7000 damage. So if you've reduced your opponent's life points beforehand, it's possible to win, if not, you'll put them in a very tough position.
The "Search Way" - Ojama Country on field, Ojamagic in hand, Ojama Blue in grave. Use Ojama Country, send Ojamagic, add your monsters, special summon Ojama Blue. When it's destroyed by battle, add your two Ojama Cards. Preferably Ojama Red and Ojama Delta Hurricane if you still have the Black Yellow and Green in your hand and Country on the field. You can take the search way many different ways, but this is the best way to do it in my opinion.
Now, due to the nature of this card, it really only fits in an Ojama deck. However, there are obviously different ways to build Ojamas. But all I can say is, if you're running Ojamas, Country needs to be in it.
oh.
WHY IS THERE SO MUCH DAMN YAOI UNDER THE YUGIOH TAGS
aaaaaaaaaaaa
Sorry if any of you guys like it, but I'm really not a fan
I play the card games, not the shippings
in other news I'm still trying to get some decks to make
So in the meantime, I'm gonna start a **NEW** segment - In-Depth Look. These segments are where instead of looking at a deck itself, I look at a single card, most likely one from a deck that I've gone over, and talk about what it does in the deck in question and what it could do in other decks. In some cases, I'll just do it on interesting cards I find. So expect one soon!
Welp.
I really need to update again. But I don't really have a new whole deck to cover! In the meantime, I can talk about one I've been testing out:
Basically, the idea is to abuse both Naturia Pineapple's and Treeborn Frog's effects to have two tribute fodder monsters out each turn. However, due to Pineapple's restrictions with only being able to be summoned from the grave should the only monsters in there be plant and beast (summon treeborn first, then get out pineapple), and there aren't very many great level 7 or higher plant/beast monsters (at least not that suit this deck), I had to come to compromise.
I would still be using Naturia Bamboo Shoot, since S/T negation is wonderful. But otherwise, a lot of cards like Enemy Controller and Share the Pain will basically be tributing everything off the field. And Trial and Tribulation is also nice. Any thoughts on it?
hnng
I tried making Gem-Knights. Didn't work out, haha.
So far, my main decks are:
Gusto
Machina Gadgets
So. I'm still looking!
making a yugioh deck is a stressful experience
also I know this isn't a deck outline or anything but truth right here (at least if it's an original idea)
If anybody wants to duel me
My username on DN is ChaoBall
And really I'm not extremely amazing or anything, I just have good deck ideas haha
still if it's a duel I'm up for it, and I need some new ideas anyways
If you have an interesting deck, I might try to a deck outline on it if you'll let me!
Psychic Gustos
Okay. I really really really love Gustos. Like a lot. They're great at one of the things I like to do - to stall attacks. They're all cool-looking, too. So that's a plus! And, I do know that Psychic Gustos aren't as unpopular as the other decks I do reviews on (at least, not most of them) but I still wanted to do a deck review. Because Gustos are badass and you know it.
Before You Build!
-----------------
Like creature swapping, and thus being able to abuse your opponent's monsters? Use Gustos.
Like being able to avoid direct attacks for a long time? Use Gustos.
Like Synchro Summoning? Use Gustos.
Like putting monsters back into your deck to use later? Use Gustos.
Like having multiple effects that revolve around having stuff in your grave? Use Gustos.
Like having annoying decks? Use Gustos.
etc.
But I will say this. If you're not doing completely pure, and even sometimes if you are, you'll be going over 40 cards. Because Gustos do actually need some support. But if they have it, then they're ready to rape things once they've wasted all their opponent's monsters or taken them.
One thing though - get rid of anything that would banish your monsters like Dimensional Fissure or Macro Cosmos ASAP. Run 3 MSTs, whatever, I don't care. Just get rid of them. Imperial Iron Wall is also an option.
The Strategy!
------------
We should all know the Gusto loop.
Winda - Gulldo - Egul
or
Egul - Winda - Gulldo
or
Gulldo-Winda-Egul
You get the point.
Collectively, these monsters block nine attacks. And that's only if you don't recycling them back to your deck. And if you're not, you shouldn't be playing gustos. Because you have no idea how to use them.
Anyways, once your grave is full, or you see an opportunity to take a strong monster, that's when you strike. Especially if the opponent has something like Horus, that's a problem. Whip out your Reeze, Whirlwind of Gusto and swap it for an Egul. Myself, I use Emergency Teleport for a tribute. On the other hand, however, you can also get Psychic Jumper if you have something like Winda, even though you don't get a summon for her. But I mean, seriously. Winda's pretty and great and all, but you'd be getting a Horus. Or another strong monster. I don't think you'd mind not getting a summon from Winda.
(Just to tell you - the reason you don't get a summon from Winda is because she says destroyed by your opponent's monster, not just destroyed like Egul says, and she's destroyed by your monster and sent to your grave... so.)
On the front of having a full grave, let me just toss you a few card names:
Contact With Gusto.
Gusto Whirlwind.
Caam, Serenity of Gusto.
Quill Pen of Gulldos.
Daigusto Gulldos.
Daigusto Eguls.
etc.
That's most of the stuff that'll be recycling back into your deck. You need all of those cards (except maybe Gusto Whirlwind, but it's always a nice card to have in tough situations.)
Necessary Cards
---------------
Winda, Priestess of Gusto
Gusto Egul
Gusto Gulldo
Caam, Serenity of Gusto
Reeze, Whirlwind of Gusto
Krebons (there's no good level 2 gusto tuner since Falco sucks in my opinion, so having Krebons is nice - he's also DARK, which means Dark Simorgh is an option)
Contact With Gusto
Blessings for Gusto
Quill Pen of Gulldos
Creature Swap
Daigusto Gulldos
Daigusto Sphreez
Optional Cards
---------------
Gusto Whirlwind
Emergency Teleport
Psychic Jumper
Windaar, Sage of Gusto
Kamui, Hope of Gusto
Daigusto Eguls
And the Extra Deck will be up to you, other than the Daigusto synchros, because there are a lot of options!
Okay.
Okay, I promised I would post, so I need to get to that-
But it's gonna be a little different today.
There's a deck that I'm trying to make (only because I got the Ghost/Gold hybrid rare Blue Eyes from Haunted Mine, haha) and I want some ideas on it. I'll give you my whole build this time, just so you can test it out yourself, because it's not complete yet, and I know it can improve. If you find any way to make it better (aside from RDDMD, I hate that card so much I refuse to use it, and I do know I'm being ridiculous), please message me about it. Once I get a better build, I'll do an outline post about it.
There are 21 monsters, and 19 S/Ts
3x Blue Eyes
1x Blue Eyes Shining

You guys can also answer this post or send me an ask about it, so please do that too?
Woops
Sorry guys, that I haven't been posting. I've actually been gaining some followers recently! I haven't been on DN recently, but I'll get back on - I do have some new deck ideas that I can list.
So, keep on checking for new things!
The Thunder Family!
This is a kind-of-recent archetype: Thunder Family. It consists of Mothunder, Fathunder, and Sisthunder. There needs to be a Brothunder. But their pet is Thunder Seahorse. Anyhow, they're all level 4 LIGHT Thunder-type monsters. It's always fun to use Thunder monsters!
Before You Build!
Keep in mind in this deck you won't be Special Summoning *as* often. Yes, you still rely on it, but it's not as common. Mothunder and Fathunder both let you Normal Summon another LIGHT Thunder-Type monster once per turn. Usually, you Normal Summon Mo/Fathunder to use its effect and then Normal Summon Sisthunder to banish a Thunder Seahorse from your grave and get it back during the endphase. What Thunder Seahorse does, by the way, is it lets you discard it to add two level 4 LIGHT Thunder-type monsters with 1600 or less attack with the same name from your deck to your hand. Mothunder has 1400, Fathunder has 1300, and Sisthunder has 900. Seahorse itself is 1600. So they're all candidates. Your turn with a simple hand should look something like this:
Discard Seahorse to use its effect
Normal Summon Mo/Fathunder and use its effect
Normal Summon Sisthunder
Banish Seahorse
Overlay for a rank 4 XYZ OR if you are using Lightwave Tuning (I personally use it to get Avenging Knight Parshath or in some cases Stardust) a synch for 8
Attack if possible
End turn and get back your Seahorse (you don't have to banish Seahorse by the way, it's just that it is a good idea if you have enough Mo/Fa/Sis in your deck)
The Strategy!
----------------
This deck makes full use of Rank 4 XYZ monsters. Utopia, Pearl, Black Corn, Lavalval, Daigusto (you essentially need this for recycling), all of that stuff. Constellar Omega is also a VERY good idea because you can get Constellar Ptolemys Messier 7 onto it due to it's effect. And you can but a monster from your grave back into your hand! (Battle Fader wouldn't be a bad idea...) You can also put a monster on the field or in your opponent's graveyard back to the hand. Sadly, you can't use that effect the turn you summon it that way.
Anyways, a major selling point of this deck is how it recycles so well. If you find a way to get Sis out a lot (from my experience, you won't even need Double Summon or Ultimate Offering) you can recycle all of your Thunder Family monsters, for one thing. But one thing - this deck is pretty weak against Frog Monarchs. Well, a lot of stuff is, but this one in particular - it relies on keeping its monsters on the field (except for Lavalval and Daigusto, those are just utility) and having your XYZ banished by Caius or put back into the extra by Raiza is not fun. Quite honestly I'm still working on finding a way to deal with them, but if you do find a way that's not really situational (like, I wouldn't want to run Vanity's Ruler just to stop Treeborn because I need to Special Summon to) I'd appreciate a comment about it! But if you can keep your monsters on the field - expect to do some damage. Maestroke the Symphony Djinn can sets things that are too strong to take down with brute force but in Defense is pretty weak - Utopia is just to stay safe for a while - Gem-Knight Pearl beats Stardust and a lot of other monsters that have 2500 so that's pretty good. Black Corn is just obvious. Deals with Gachi since it doesn't destroy it but sends it to the grave. Shark Drake is really good, and Thunder Spark Dragon is obviously the family's staple.
Necessary Cards
------------------
Mothunder
Fathunder
Sisthunder
Thunder Seahorse
Thunder King Rai-Oh
Solemn Warning
Solemn Judgement (most monsters outside of the XYZ's are weak, so we really need trap support)
Honest
Sangan
Optional Cards
-----------------
(You should have some empty space, so these are just suggestions - but it's your decision)
Starlight Road
Dark Hole
Heavy Storm
Sangan
Mask of Restrict (for Frog Mons, Hieratics, Steelswarm, and a few other things- but mostly ruins Hieratics)
D.D. Crow
Makiu, The Magical Mist
