🔥 Yugioh 🤔
Unpopular opinion regarding Yu-Gi-Oh! but Akhnakanem is worse than Akhnadin. At least, I’d be willing to bet that’s an unpopular opinion?
Before I get into why, I’ll just, cards on the table state that Akhnadin’s classist and quasi-ethnocentrist genocide of a whole village was an evil, and unforgivable act. There we go. Got that out the way.
So, why is Akhnakanem worse imo? Well, Akhnadin’s decision to murder a whole bunch of people (still not okay), was predicated on ‘there is a murdering army arriving to rape and pillage the entire kingdom including that one village and we have no means of protecting our citizens at all and lots of people will die’.
I think anyone deciding which members of a population are disposable human sacrifices for the greater good is– uh, inherently a complete monster? That is a monstrous thing to do. But I can also have a degree of sympathy for someone caught in the trolley problem.
We also know Zorc’s influence is incredibly corrupting – thus how Akhnadin goes from willing to not only give up his birthright over this crime (a fraction of self-awareness) as well as disown his son in order to protect him from cultural karmic inheritance (look it up, the egyptians are big on that), to– trying to murder his son cause they disagree kinda? That’s kinda nuts. Zorc jammed Akhnadin’s already questionable jelly right up.
Compare this to Akhnakanem who:
1. Never questioned where his brother got the items, only that whatever it was needed an army, dark spell book and like a whole bunch of priests died and never came back.
2. Even when Mahaad specifically is like uh your highness, I think these items are made of soylent green, Akhnakanem doesn’t strip Akhnadin of council position, doesn’t make any efforts to honour the people of kul elna, doesn’t have a damn burial, just kinda does some half-assed whining on behalf of his son who HE LETS FALL OFF A FUCKING LEDGE.
3. Canonically uses the items to not only repel the army that had Akhnadin so fucked up, but then became the same army, by using the items to conquer surrounding nomes. THAT IS CANON.
Akhnakanem is a goddamn cowardly bastard who reaps the benefit of his people’s deaths by going to war, and Akhnadin made a horrific decision, but did so in order to save lives.
SO like. Js.
Inmean other than kazuki having to writea finish to the manga in about six months which may have heavily influenced the writing
I cant argue with that o.o

Card games really are serious business.
Sometimes I wonder if Set just put the whole “whoever completes the puzzle will have a wish granted” on the sarcophagus in order to entice someone to put the millennium puzzle together.
Honestly that’s interesting
This never fails to make me laugh.
it’s back
always reblog
I’m on the floor.
GOODBYE
Hey, hey, remember how Yugi, like, fall in love at first sight...
THIS BABY IS SO HAPPY TO FINALLY *meet* HIS OTHER SELF PLS LOOK AT HIS SMALL BLUSH, I am forever Crying at this.
I accidentally reblogged this with my wrong account oop
I'm just gonna... cry over this again...
HOW YAMI SHIELDED YUGI FROM ATTACK/DANGER EVEN THO HE'S LIKE, TRANSPARENT RIGHT THEN AND PROBABLY DIDN'T DO MUCH BUT HIS FIRST INSTINCT IS TO PROTECT AIBO I'M FOREVER CRYING.
Also yes this is the duel against Pegasus.
And then just- some distressed Yami noises, panicking and worrying over Aibo that got my heart CLENCH everytime:
And this was, like, their first duel together, like how Yami finally could listen to Yugi's voice and I am just emotional again remembering it.
And then OF COURSE, Yami took over again and was FURIOUS- he got that Fire effect surrounding him too Like, Nope, Pegasus, this is your End HHH
"Pegasus... I... WON'T FORGIVE YOU!!"
Aahhh so much power you had in that panel, AAAHHHHH people, just don't ever Try to hurt Yugi, y'all his ghostly mighty boyfriend gonna be Furious and you won't Like to be in the receiving end HHHH
Ah yes I'm reminded again that I really love this Duel~
DSoD Analysis: Yugi’s repressed grief and resistance
Probably one of the most surprising things during DSoD is Yugi’s silent and calm behavior as soon as the topic “Atem” is brought up. Contrary to Kaiba who, more or less, openly grieves for Atem’s absence and acts furiously (especially against Yugi), Yugi acts the exact opposite. (An analysis about Kaiba’s POV can be found here) -> [ shitatemdoes.tumblr.com/post/183195820559 ]
The question some people may ask is: “Is Yugi grieving at all?”

Oh no
Ughhuhu 😭I cant
Who broke this???
He just accidentally kicked it and was hoping no one would notice.
Ryou is over there kicking ass at a video game and hears Yami Yugi kick a game he lost at right before someone took a photo. This is what happened.
let me share the forbidden knowledge

It’s funny that with how the story progresses you want to think that Ryou Bakura couldn’t make any new friends because of Dark Bakura’s meddling or because he was shy, but then you realize as the story goes on that Bakura is literally just a weirdo. He’s obsessed with the occult and literally cannot put more than 3 seconds into thinking about why picking you the millennium ring is probably a bad idea. Maybe if Ryou was fleshed out a bit more he’d seem more normal but as it is the few character interactions we get with him after the original RPG arc has him just acting so off. Like literally just look at this art from Takahashi:
It’s a big photo with everyone chilling together like friends and Bakura’s just there trying to show Serenity his creepy necklace that tries to kill people. It’s this image that made me realize this whole speech because it’s so weird but also so in character.
He’s not a grade A pure boy because he’s nice, he’s pure because he has absolutely nothing going on up there and Dark Bakura is using all the brain cells 😂
Idk maybe I’m being too hard on him, maybe the occult is just his special interest and he has trouble understanding the complexities of human interaction. At the very least he’s trying his gosh darn best.
In case any of you fanartists have been itching to draw Kame Game at a different angle from the usual, here are some reference images. I made the model in SketchUp, based on the house pieces from Yu-Gi-Oh Monopoly.
Op where is Yuugis skylight
The structure of Kame differs slightly between the anime and the manga; the Monopoly pieces seem to be based on the anime. Regardless, I believe Yugi’s room is directly beneath one of the little portico things on either side of the attic, which is why I’ve placed the windows directly on the slant of the roofing
Not to argue but I’m still confused please explain more? The anime also has a sla Ted window (somehow I usd to think it was smaller?)
Nah, don’t worry, you don’t sound argumentative at all.
What I meant is that the manga seems to suggest Yugi’s room is in the back of the attic …
… but neither the Monopoly piece nor That One Angle we get of the shop in the anime suggests there’s a window back there.
However, the manga version of Kame also lacks those little mini roofs on either side of the main roof …
So I want to say Yugi’s room is under one of those.
Ah thank you!! Now I understand! Thank you very much!!

tbh I expected approximately no one to be interested in that Kame Game model and now that this appears to be false should I do something similar for Kaiba Manor?
(it’s the Transcend Game version because the original version is just the White House. … The Blue-Eyes White House.)
