hi everyone, i know i haven't posted in a while, but it's my birthday today. I've been struggling lately because I work a minimum wage job, get paid biweekly, and barely get scheduled in the first place. I never ever beg on the internet, but if anybody wants to send a little something my way, it would make my day. I'd just like to buy myself a treat. My c4sh@pp is $fintast1c, and I'll draw a 30 minute doodle for anybody who gives something.

Over everything, though, birthday wishes are still greatly appreciated. I've been a lot more active on my twitter, and also discord of course, so if you want those you can ask, i don't bite.

a few words about Akira Toriyama

Im sure everybody's heart weighs heavy today. It's one of those events that freezes you in place. I've been thinking about it all morning. It feels like the world has stopped, because Toriyama changed the world. Even though I am a relatively new fan, I feel regretful that I didn't get to spend enough time with his works while he was alive as I would have liked to.

I know a lot of people grew up on some kind of dragon ball media, but I never did. I remember catching a few episodes of kai on saturday morning cartoons, but I always found it boring because I couldn't understand the plot. I finished dragon ball on valentine's day of 2023, with my boyfriend, and we continued on to watch the rest of the series' together too. In a silly sort of way, I owe the success of my relationship to Toriyama (lol).

I know so many professional artists, comics, voice actors, animators, and writers, who all started by creating some sort of dragon ball fan content. Every little kid has drawn goku in their notebook. Even my boyfriend was inspired to start drawing because of Toriyama. My little brother, too. We all owe a lot to him, in a way. Toriyama has inspired literally billions around the world with his stories, regardless of age, race, or gender. He has built a story and characters that are beloved all around the world, and will surely never be forgotten.

I'd also like to add that, of course, he also worked on Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, Dr. Slump and others. While I am not personally a fan of these works, they are all greatly influential and amazing as well. As others have said, Toriyama left his fingerprints all over the anime, manga, and gaming industry. The world and lives of many would not be the same without him. May he rest in peace 💗
