A/N:Â Please let me know what you think! Itâd be awesome to get feedback on this!
After almost a year of dating Tony Stark you were done. He didnât seem to care about you or want to do anything with you at all, and you had had enough. Tony was a genuinely good person, but his ego seemed to get in the way of everything. He ran a company and was in charge of everything, which made him think he was in charge of you, which certainly wasnât the case.Â
âIâm done, Tony, I canât be with you anymore,â you confessed to him.
âWhy? Please give me a good reason,â he said.
âI could give you many! Youâre selfish, youâre always too busy with work, and every time you do have free time you still find a way to devote it to work. Iâve had enough, Iâm sorry,â you told him.
Tony was speechless. He knew you were right, but he didnât want to admit that.
âI can change things around and I can be better, please. I love you,â he pleaded.
You shook your head. âNo,â you said. âI love you too, but I canât, Tone, I just canât.â
And you left.
This was about a week ago. Since then you had moved into an apartment with your best friend Wanda Maximoff. You and Wanda had been friends since elementary school along with her twin brother Pietro. At times it had seemed that it was you three against the world.Â
You worked as a columnist for a popular website for New Yorkers in the city. Thatâs actually how you met Tony. You had gone into do a quick interview with him and he was too charming for anything not to happen.Â
âYouâve been cooped up in here for days, let me take you out somewhere,â Wanda insisted poking her head in the doorway to your room as you sat curled up in your bed with your laptop.
âI really donât want to, I need to take a shower and - â
âThen take one! Then we are going out,â she didnât even give you a chance to protest as she left the doorway.
You sighed and decided to go take a shower.

Wanda led the way into the bar that you recognized instantly. You used to take Wanda here whenever she was looking for a good time after she had broken up with a boyfriend or a boyfriend had broken up with her.
âYouâre not serious, are you?â you asked. âI donât want to meet anyone. Itâs too soon. I just want to be single for a bit.â
âOkay, fine,â Wanda said. âI just wanted to have a fun night out with you. Why canât you understand that?â
âBecause I know you,â you replied with a smile.
Wanda smirked. âCan you get me something to drink? I need to run to the restroom,â she said.
âSure, what do you want?â you asked.
âSurprise me.â
You sighed and went over to the counter to order something. You told the bartender your order.
âSix more shots,â the man next to you said to the bartender.Â
âAre you sure?â the bartender asked.
âIâm not feeling anything, so keep âem coming till I do,â he said.
With that, the bartender nodded and started right away on the order. You turned to look at the man. He was a built, brunette who was hunched over the bar. There were about five shot glasses around him and he seemed to be alone.
âYou okay?â you wondered.
The man turned to you and you saw the brightest blue eyes you had ever seen. âDefine âokayâ,â he said. âMy boss is a real dick. Heâs been letting people go at random, and itâs really worrying me. I do so much for this company that I donât know what Iâm going to do if I get fired. For no reason too.â
âThat sucks, Iâm sorry,â you said. âDo you really think that all of these shots are going to do anything?â
The man shrugged. âWho knows,â he muttered. âI canât even get the slightest buzz, which sucks. Itâs hard to feel something.â
There was a second before he said anything more. âIâm James, but people call me Bucky,â he introduced.
âY/N, nice to meet you,â you replied.Â
The man, who you now knew as Bucky, shook his head. âIâm sorry the first impression you got of me was a quitter or an alcoholic,â he apologized again. âIâm not either of those things.â
âItâs fine, youâre fine,â you said.Â
Just then, Wanda came out of the bathroom and saw the whole scene going down. She smiled at her friend and walked right up to her. âHey, Y/N, whoâs this?â she asked.
You sighed, this isnât what Wanda thought it was. âThis is Bucky,â you introduced. âBucky, this is my friend Wanda.â
âNice to meet you,â Bucky said.
âNice to meet you as well,â Wanda replied. She then turned to you and smiled. The bartender gave you the drinks and then gave Bucky his shots. Wanda took her drink. âIâm going to go see if anyone looks lonely here, you two have fun.â
âWait, Wanda-â you tried to stop her, you really didnât want to continue talking to this guy. Not because you didnât want to - because you did - you just werenât in the mood to. You didnât even want to come here in the first place.Â
âAm I that boring to talk to?â Bucky laughed noticing your panic as Wanda left.
You shook your head quickly and looked at him. âNo, no, itâs just that I was forced to come here because I âneed to go out moreâ and this is what she does every time, and Iâm sorry Iâm rambling,â you said.
Bucky laughed again. âItâs perfectly okay, I understand. I used to be the same way,â he admitted. âIâd drag my friend Steve to places like this when he obviously didnât want to go and Iâd go run off trying to impress every girl in the building while he stood off to the side. I get it. Steveâs gotten more assertive, though, and knows how to say ânoâ now.â
âI wish I could,â you said. âI just feel like I owe Wanda everything because weâve literally been through everything.â
âWant to get out of here?â he questioned.
You were caught off guard. âWhat?â you asked.
âDo you want to get out of here?â he repeated. âWe could get something to eat or just walk around.â
âOh, um okay,â you said.
Bucky smiled. âGreat.â
