The most boring thing Bay movies did was have Optimus speak in a Quintesson type of language instead of truck noises. I try to excuse it by saying that the Quintessons were colonizers instead of creators and forced Cybertronians to learn their language and writing system.
I ignore Quintessons in Bayverse tbh it doesn't really fit in with the trilogy's history of Cybertron.
The prequel comics also showed that an invading alien force really wouldn't have been able to take over. They're a planet of living war machines. They easily took out the whole force.
That being said, I thought the ancient Cybertronian he and Lockdown spoke was very interesting. I wish more TF media leaned into the language and explored what it would sound like.
Edit: Slight correction, I could see Quintessons fitting into the story in the very very beginning, as Transformers came from the Allspark, which existed on Cybertron without any known source or reasoning. The Allspark could have been a Quintesson invention, but they notably were not around and were not mentioned. But hey, it could still be argued.
