This is an AU, and a dual project made to reimagine aspects of the Yo-kai Watch universe/franchise into what I con only hope will be a more cohesive, yet still unique story, while also showing lesser stories that were not shown or told on the anime or games for whatever reason

This project will be composed of both a webcomic and a fanmade reimagining of the TCG that's meant to be completely different to the official one

#224: SLIMAMANDER

This guy is one of my favourite Yo-kai

Tbh I wanted to texture and detail this one more, but the file was too big for the phone I paint on to handle, my drawing app ended up crashing several times while making this lol

As you can see, I made Slimamander one of those cards that when you put them together they make a full picture, in this case, the mouth/head cards are meant to be the three targets you have to hit, and the "Slimamander Head"s are how the back of the Slimamander Mouths/Head cards looks like, all three of them have the same back, so, if you were to play this physically, you'd be fighting a boss made up of 4 cards, and once you dealt enough damage, you'd flip the cards to reveal if it's the weak spot (the head) or not

#037: Tattletell, #093: Jibanyan and #179: Dismarelda

These three are the three D Ranks you get within the first three chapters of YKW1

Jibanyan is both referencing his Yo-kai Medal and the fact that he is always the showcase for the Yo-kai Watch's Summonings, that's why he's mid-air

Dismarelda's drawing is a reference to her "miniboss" encounter on Chapter 2

Meanwhile with Tattletell, I didn't want to go the obvious route of making her card her encounter on Chapter 3, so her drawing is her just drinking some tea at the Abandoned Mansion in Blossom Heights, since that's the place where she appears the most in the first game and because she's, oddly related to tea in the anime? Idk, why did they choose an old style japanese "teacup" for her background item on her summoning sequence instead of anything else?

Now, the rarer E Rank encounters on Uptown Springdale

Snotsolong is swimming at the western riverbank of Uptown Springdale, and he's bummed, because snot too long.

I wanted to showcase the weirdness of the Yo-kai and portray just how much some Yo-kai are just straight up cryptids, weirdness and all

Noway is blocking a house

Leadoni is at YOUR house trying to get you to follow him, and probably get you lost

Droplette is dripping from a pipe at the Shady Back Alley, right in front of the Lonely Waterway, surprisingly, the only two parts where Droplette appears in the first game (barring Yo-kai spots)

#057: Dulluma, #070: Roughraff, #116: Hungramps and #144: Dimmy

Ok, even more Yo-kai cards, these four are posted together because they're what I call affectionately, "The Desolate Lane Gang" or "The Catwalk Quartet" since both of those micro dungeons have the same set of four Yo-kai on them (Hungramps appears on the trashcans) and those are always the places I go first to get Yo-kai at the start of my playthroughs of YKW1

Dulluma is just resting on the trash at the Catwalk (don't feel bad for him, he actually likes being there, it's a nice shady place, he can find some cool stuff and his noses don't actually work so the stench doesn't matter to him)

Roughraff's drawing is how I imagine a cutscene for his mandatory "microboss" encounter on Chapter 2 would look like if YKW had more cutscenes, also, it has a fish-eye lens effect, because of the street gangster he is, I wanted to also make it look like the kind of picture he'd use if he released an album

Hungramps and Dimmy's drawings reference their quests on the Yo-roz/Everymart on front of the Catwalk, with Hungramps eating the Onigiri you gave him and Dimmy hiding the idol girl from her stans

Also, Hungramps being there is also a reference to his backstory from the anime

And in case anyone thinks that the foremost Roughraff is getting Mike Wazowskie'd

He's peeking at you from behind the text

Also, here's an unfinished version of the idol girl to scare you shitless, as a treat

#141: Negatibuzz and #162: Coughkoff

Two more cards, I posted these two together since they are the common tree encounters in the first area on YKW1

I wanted to catch the utter constant annoyance in Negatibuzz's face and posed him like if he was approaching you slowly, like you just barged into his home, since you kinda do just do that in game, but also like if he was going to shank you on the back alley, which is probably what he wants to do...

His drawing is located on the Shady Back Alley, where he is pretty much a mandatory encounter on your first playthrough, I also used a glitchy effect and a more square shading to give it some spice and to portray a back alley graffiti vibe

As for Coughkoff, he's on a tree, because he's a chestnut like Yo-kai, also it cloudy, bcuz cold wether makes yiu... catch a cold... Idk...

A detail of the artwork that ended up getting obfuscated here is that this drawing is meant to take place at the Sacred Tree, where Nate first met Buhu

The first custom Yo-kai card I'm posting here! And of course, it's Nate's first medal, Cadin! I love this little cicada!

As a detail, I placed a brown and a green cicada alongside him to represent the three trees you gotta check in Chapter 1 of YKW1 so you catch the one that's Cadin disguised, which also only have green and brown cicadas

Btw, did anybody else notice how cute they made some of the bug models in YKW? Really, someone please make a plushie of the green cicada because its face literally looks like: o-o

Fan made custom cards for a few of the Yo-criminals (Yo-kai Watch)

As you can see, the Yo-criminals cards are stylized to be like the criminal records of the Yo-criminal in question, mugshot and everything, but with the twist of posing the question:

"What would the Yo-criminal do if they found their own criminal records?"

I also tried to convey what I headcanon their personalities to be like (and since this is tied to my own reimagined AU, what their personalities ARE like in my AU) like for example, Negatibuzz-kill does not have a single hint of remorse behind those eyes, Roughraffony is not paying attention to the mugshot, Dopplenyan is utterly flabbergasted and Cadout dgaf and is spreading more rumours

And writing this is when I realize that tumblr only allows up to 10 images in a single post from the app, oh well
