Spawnitican
Hi! I'm Judas and I'm working on a conlang called Spawnitican, it is still very much so a WIP but my aim with it is to create a language specifically for other Spawnist, perhaps to be used in prayer or communication with other Spawnists. I am currently working on the phonemes for the consonants of the language but I am nowhere near finished with it. Also please be aware this is my first time making anything like this so a lot of the time taken up will be researching. If there are any other Spawnists willing to assist me in my mission please dm me, any and all help would be extremely appreciated.

Pokemon ficto-religion
A type of ficto-religion / neoreligion centered around pokemon in some form. This is a general flag for all pokemon themed ficto-religions / neoreligions.
Ok neo/ficto religion post
Ok guys when I was scrolling through a page of someone I follow on here they used the term plurlpunk and that gave me an idea
Guys can we make religionpunk a thing.
The idea is it's a movement to promote the radical acceptance of all faiths as long as they're nonharmful. So whether you're in a mainstream religion or an obscure ficto/neo religion you will be accepted.
I think the whole ficto/neo religion community could rally around this label as a way to rebel against those who wish to put us down.
And as always spawn bless
Or may whatever god you believe in bless you :>
I love you fictopagans. Especially those who don't have anybody else in their religion. (Like me). Your god(s) love you 💙
does anyone have any evidence about the oldest evidence of spawnism (not the spawn symbol, spawnism itself)? i've seen people say it's existed since 2013 but i haven't seen anything about this
How do other Spawnists feel about Forsaken?
What about Forsaken Alters/Headmates/Parts and Fictionkins?
forsakens cool and all, but it annoys me how people always think spawnism comes from it, or try to compare spawnism to two time and azure. also how the forsaken devs didn’t really do much to understand what spawnism really is, and how they are always acting like they created it
and i have a couple forsaken fictotypes, i’m contractee, an au version of 007n7 and the alien elliot skin. i also have a taph synpath ^ ^
forsaken headmates are cool :D (tho i don’t have any)
My Pagan Veiling Tips!
This is my personal tips, if you find that something else works with you, then stick with it, this is just what works for me, and if you find it works, great! Also anyone can veil, remember that.
1. Good quality veils usually are from Muslim shops, here are some I personally use: sunnahstyle.com, hautehijab.com, bazaralhaya.com.
2. Invest in a good undercap (hair net or underscarf) especially if you plan on not showing any hair, I recommend haute hijab or sunnah style for the best undercaps.
3. Scarf magnets are a Godsend! The websites I recommended have good magnetic strength & are inexpensive! Sunnah Style are the cheapest!
4. Rectangle veils are more versatile than square scarves. If you plan on doing many styles, rectangle are the way to go. If you want simple, stick with square.
5. Woven, Chiffon, Mehdina Silk, or other light fabrics are best during Hot weather seasons. Jersey fabric is best for cold weather seasons.
6. Reminder, soft and light fabrics are more likely to slip, so wearing an undercap or magnets will help make the veil stay in place. Heavier fabrics like jersey will usually stay in place, but use magnets if you are in cold season, if you want your scarf to stay snug.
7. Light fabrics are usually less opaque, so folding it will make it least see through. Or simply wear an undercap will help with the opaqueness.
8. Etsy is best for printed veils, otherwise Haute Hijab has a great selection of printed fabrics. But remember, they only have Woven, Pleated, & Chiffon printed fabrics on their website.
9. I recommend SunnahStyle for face veils, mainly since I only bought them from that website, they have many types and colors: half veil, one layer, two layer, three layer, no-pinch (for people who wear glasses or just don’t like the pinching regular veils give), buttoned veils, etc.
10. You will probably get mistaken as a Muslim when wearing these styles, even though there’s historical evidence of the veil belonging in many practices. If you are uncomfortable with the association, I would recommend buying religious symbols or pins to put on your scarves to help differentiate you.
11. Remember, do not overdo yourself. Even wearing the lightest of fabrics, if you are in hot weather, you will still heat up. Please don’t overheat yourself, it’s okay to take off your scarves. Or invest in a portable fan, and drink lots of water to prevent heat exhaustion. Especially if you take meds that make you susceptible to heat.
12. The Gods will not be angry with you if you have to take off your veil, they understand that you are human and that you need to take care of yourself first.
These are some of my tips, if you have any questions, don’t feel afraid to ask or reach out to me. I hope this helps you on your journey!

Thanks so much for your request! I had a lot of fun sharing my knowledge and searching for resources! I tried to be thorough and also not write an entire Wikipedia page, so I hope to be helpful but brief! I also made an effort to keep my resource circle on tumblr for non-historical resources to help support my fellow pagans online. <3

Veiling as a Pagan: A Master Post
A brief history
To begin, let's familiarize ourselves with some historical and cultural examples of veiling from ancient times.
Veiling was very common among elite women living in ancient Rome and Greece. It was a symbol of high status, was believed to provide spiritual protection, and let others know that she was a respectable woman. Veils were viewed as extensions of the home, letting women circulate publicly while maintaining privacy.
The earliest forms of veiling are mentioned from Mesopotamia and Assyria, where veiling was regulated by law as a statement of class and morality. As a fun fact, the practice of veiling precedes the existence of Islam (aka, it's unfathomably old.)
Nowadays, religions from all over the world practice veiling. To sum it all up, it was a devotional status symbol and protective religious wear.

Who veils?
Why do modern pagans veil?
Modern pagan traditions have claimed a version of veiling for themselves, and there are no strict guidelines for why, when or where a pagan may wear one. Pagans veil for their own personal reasons. Many veil as a reminder of their connection with a deity, or as an offering to a deity. Some claim that their personal craft requires one, or was requested by their deity.
A spiritual vow, dedication or obligation may sometimes lead a pagan to veil. Select pagans hold the belief that they must create a barrier so their head is not in direct contact with the energies surrounding them (this is also described as protecting the crown chakra.)
It can also simply be a grounding tool, a symbol of womanhood, a status symbol of respect, or to practice modesty. Personally, I use it for ritual, whenever I interact with my altar, and when I write on my blog. I view my educational work in honor of my own deity.
Any reason to veil is a valid reason. To answer a common question, it is indeed appropriate for any pagan to veil the way they feel comfortable with. Personally, if you do ancestral work, I recommend researching how your ancestors might have veiled!

How to wear a veil
A witch must have an answer to three things before deciding to veil:
What purpose does this veil serve?
When should I wear the veil?
What style works best for me?
This sets intention, structure, and a plan of action. A witch may veil with any appropriate cloth (usually, silk, satin or cotton, but any material will work!) Some associate specific patterns or colors with a deeper meaning, such as pink for attracting love, or black for protection. Some pagans also veil with other items such as a hat, bandana, scarf, jewelry, oils, perfume, hair bindings, or simply just cleansing oneself. It all depends on your personal preferences.

Maintaining a veil
Veils are usually maintained via cleansing practices before use (or on a regular schedule). This is optional but I am including this section in case a witch may need it!
Spritz the veil with moon water
Physically wash (safely) with intention
Sound cleansing using bells or singing bowls
Dry or leave out in the sun (not for too long if bleaching is a risk!)
Smoke cleansing with incense or herbs
Placing charged crystals on (or in) the veil of your choice
A spiritual uncrossing from negative energy that the veil may have held onto over the course of usage
Where to buy a veil
Francesca's often has cheap silky and patterned head scarves, they change often (I own several), a franchise but can often be found in malls. Etsy, in general. Good finds but a large company. Chaotic Witch Aunt (small business but very quality). SatinStylez is an Etsy seller I have bought from before and I recommend their products.
For in-person shopping options, you can find options for veils just about everywhere. Clothing boutiques, thrifting, craft stores, etc. I've also seen people crochet or knit them!

Hellenic polytheism stems from a rich culture, receiving its common (but not exclusive) name from the region in which it was primarily practiced. Naturally, some elements of ancient Hellenic values and traditions made their way into religious practices. Some of these traits are more obvious than others, but today, I’d like to introduce how I bind and veil my hair on a daily basis.
I’ve written about what binding/veiling is in the past, so if you’d like a clear introduction to the concept, I suggest reading one of my posts, and/or this great post by Elani, aka @baringtheaegis . In short, though, binding and veiling was something used by women during the later periods of life in Ancient Hellas. it was a way women would protect themselves from lyma (the pollution/distraction we naturally gather in our day-to-day lives– but this is not sin check out my subheading for lyma on my masterpost for more info) and maintain ritual purity, also called katharmos. It was very culturally significant, which accounts for its place in Hellenic Polytheism.
Although not mandatory, binding and veiling during rituals was very common, and if you want to give it a shot, that’s where I would start. For a while, that is what I did, until I found my personal method of veiling and binding, which suits my lifestyle better than before.
I personally veil everyday before I leave the house, which, for me helps with a few things:
Protection from lyma
Reminds me of the Theoi and acts as a devotional ‘activity’ (for lack of a better word)
Adds a routine for me to use to honour the Theoi everyday
Everyone who veils does so for their own reasons, in their own ways, and with their own ideals of what binding/veiling means to them. Some people bind or veil, preferring one or the other. It’s a very intimate way to connect to the Theoi and our religious predecessors.
When I think of veils/etc., I tend to recall hijabs, tichels, and other very well-defined coverings. In Ancient Hellas (which is a broad time frame as it is), there wasn’t a set way to bind or veil. Binding just means tying back your hair, and veiling is covering it in some way (entirely, or not). Himations (see below) were used to veil, but how you arrange the fabric is really open to interpretation. It’s like having a large scarf wrapped around your body and/or across your head. It looks pretty comfy, right?
(source)
(source)
However simple to wear and easy to replicate himations are, they aren’t super practical for modern lifestyles. Trust me, having to readjust these is a pain. If you think you could do it, then by all means, give it a go, but for me, it isn’t feasible.
There isn’t really a formula for binding either, which isn’t really a bad thing. There are tons of options left behind through art, including the caryatids (see first image below) and vase depictions of women living their lives (the first image after the caryatids is a scene where one women is being styled).
What I have seen most often are buns/updos of some kind with headbands or mesh coverings that hold them in place. This is what I usually use for inspiration when I get ready in the morning, but I also love braids, so those do sneak in, too.

Now that I’ve discussed veiling and binding a bit more, I’d like to move on to how I do it. This is by no means the only way to bind/veil. In fact, this is one of the less-intensive versions I have seen. I find joy in it, but if you don’t, that’s cool! Find what you like and ditch it if you don’t. Veiling and binding isn’t for everyone, and every technique offers different pros and cons.
Anyway, here’s the staples of my collection:
At the top, I have a few hairties that I use to create buns/tie off braids (I have dark hair, but I love these too much to actually not wear them, haha. They’re called teleties). If I don’t want them to show, I just use plain black hairties. Similarly, I have a bunch of bobby pins, because my hair is long and unruly.
I have three headbands, one of which I made from upcycled materials (very bottom). The other two I bought for very cheap, totalling at $4? They’re really comfortable, which I refuse to compromise on (looking at you, plastic headbands from my childhood). I usually layer the sparkly one over the white one, which has a really elegant look when put all together.
I also have two ornaments, which I don’t usually use, but have for special occasions or for when I want to feel special. The feather is a hair clip (great for binding on days when not veiling) and the wreath is a brooch.
Every once in a while, I add a strip of fabric I have lying around, and tie bows or braids. In general, though, this is what I tend to stick to!
I struggled with not looking like an idiot when wearing these, at first, but after some wiggling around, I figured out that these styles work best for me (modified as needed):
(source [this is an etsy listing, so if you like it, you can buy it])
(source [this is also an etsy listing]).
*I would typically pair this kind of style with a braid, probably a fishtail
(source [yet another awesome etsy listing])
There are days when I don’t leave the house or I don’t want to veil for whatever reason. On these days, I have a few hairstyles I go to:
Fishtail braid
Dutch braid
French braid
Criss-cross bun
Braided chignon
Smooth chignon
Other ideas I’ve had fun with (or want to try) include hair tucks (see this video for an example), milkmaid-style braids (example video), beanies, hats, and Renaissance hair nets (example).
This style is something I desperately want to recreate, but I haven’t really figured it out yet (click to view it at its source).
I hope this post is helpful to anyone looking to learn about or try binding/veiling! Let me know if you have any questions!
Otherwise, I hope to see you soon! Khaire!
*** I would like to note that binding/veiling is not, in my opinion, something only women can do. I think anyone, regardless of gender, should be able to bind and/or veil as they please, based on my views as a feminist. However, no one should feel pressured to bind/veil if they don’t want to. This post is purely for the education of interested parties! ***
Highlights from the Book of Yoba:
"Before time there was only the endless golden light. The light called out to Itself... 'Yoba'. Yoba wanted more. Yoba swirled the golden light into a vortex. Yoba swirled and swirled until a hole formed in the eye of the vortex. From this hole sprung a seed. Yoba smoothed the golden light. Yoba smoothed and smoothed, and the light became soil. Into this soil, Yoba planted the seed. The seed sprouted, and behold! A vine sprung skyward, twisting and probing, casting a writhing shadow onto the golden void. After 11 days, the vine bore fruit. Yoba, with knowing wisdom, peeled the tough skin off the fruit and saw that the world was inside. And so that is how the world came to be."
maybe there could be spawn rings... like a normal band with the spawn's symbol on it where a gem might be if that makes sense. in my stardew valley fictionkin canon, we used to have the same with the sign of the vessel, so it could work for the spawn right?
-@yobaism
Ooo… That’s actually is a good idea. But I have no idea where the bands would be..
But I was thinking of something for the hands and feet since the soles are important, and shall stay open to the Spawn.
(Testing a new banner)
this was what i meant (apologies for the extremely crude drawing). you could do anklets for feet? spawn socks. spawn shoelaces. :3
