“I’ll talk to him. Yeah, that’s what I’ll do.” She told herself in the morning while fixing her obi in her room. “It was probably a mistake. It can’t be that bad, I’ll just talk to him.”

But that didn’t happen. Instead, she spent her morning scrubbing dried rice off bowls from last night and watching the kitchen entrance anxiously, god forbid Toramatsu show up. Though it had been enough to preoccupy her thoughts in the beginning, she could not forget what had kept her up until sunrise.

 “Wait. Give me a moment.” Toramatsu did not hear her and continued to stumble towards his chambers, an arm haphazardly thrown around her shoulder. He stayed in the same position with his head hung low for a considerable amount of time while she wondered if she was the right person to be bringing him back to his chambers.

 Poor Toramatsu, she thought as she watched him try to still himself. By another one of his impossible whims, Lord Ieyasu had forced him to endure an unending slew of sake to find out how much of a man he was. That much sake might have knocked out even Inuchiyo, yet Toramatsu remained enthusiastic to the end; a flush of pink across his cheeks the only indication of drunkenness.
