so theres a new internet famous animal these days and i saw an absolute dogwater take on youtube that made me kind of mad

you might have heard of jimothy, the short-spined raccoon spotted performing raccoon activities in seattle

well i was looking into him and i found a youtuber who called herself a 'raccoon biologist' who talked about him, what his condition might be, and that he is likely going to die some horrible painful death

but she said, in practically the same breath, that it would also be cruel to take him on as a rehabilitated animal even if he is in pain because 'that's no way for a raccoon to live'

and i just. that line of thinking has been bouncing around in my head. this woman thinks we should just leave him to die or be maimed because getting him the help he might actually need is... cruel????

do people not think before they post things or what, because... if that's your immediate thought about an animal that might be in pain, i don't think you should be allowed to have pets
