Thoughts on D. Gray Man Hallow 1
For starters I am so beyond excited that my favorite anime is back with a reboot. I was so ecstatic to find out it was coming back!!
My thoughts after watching the first ep:
1.) Still have to get used to the new animation. In some parts it looks wonderful, in others it’s like mehhhh. Like, it doesn’t transition smoothly? Idk how to explain it.
2.) On that note, some of their noses look oddly big in some frames. Especially Allen and Leenalee.
3.) LAVI, MY RED HEADED SEX MUFFIN, SOUNDS LIKE A GOD DAMN 12 YEAR OLD!!!! LIKE WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFF The voice does not fit him at all.
4.) The other voices sound like they match up pretty good for the most part. Allen’s voice still sounds a little girly, but I don’t think as bad as the first one.
5.) Still not over Lavi’s horrible voice
6.) They changed some things up from the manga, like Lavi being on the boat to the new HQ. That was Johnny in the manga. Some other minor changes, but nothing that would alter the story.
7.) Lavi.12 year old.
8.) The opening and endings are beautiful. Much better then the original anime’s opening, although I did like those.
I’m so beyond excited for the new episodes to come out, and I need to start mentally preparing myself for the Alma arc.
I also really need to get this blog back up and running after like an 8 month hiatus. This is mainly a D. Gray Man blog after all
