hello!
i’d thought i’d make a main post to introduce myself and have a place for navigation. navigation: journal/vent posts: #journal rambles about movies: #cine rambles
get to know me!
i’m not going to give my real name on here for privacy reasons, but you can call me belle because she’s my favorite disney princess c:
i love reading and writing all kinds of things. i have adhd so i tend to go on tangents and have a variety of different interests. i also get distracted very easily. i started this blog because these past few months i have been going through a hard time. i was dealing with someone who was really toxic (narcissist) and tried to hurt me on purpose several times, and i felt like i was silenced. i felt like this toxic person was speaking for me to someone i love and he tried to take away any happiness that i had. (i’m not even being dramatic. i truly feel that way. he was a big bully). anyways, basically, i felt silenced and i just felt the need to speak my truth on a platform of some kind because privately journaling about it didn’t feel like enough for me. i always vented to my friends in private about how awful this person was to me, but i felt like i needed to scream to the rooftops about the injustice that was done to me in some way, shape or form. regardless, i know God has my back and i know that this person will reap what he has sown because you cannot go about life treating people inhumanely without receiving consequences of some kind.
i am a very spiritual person, but i’m not religious. i don’t subscribe to any type of religion. i was raised catholic, but i don’t identify with that religion anymore. growing up, i always felt very connected to Jesus and loved how he fought for love, kindness, inclusivity, open-mindedness, and justice. i remember either seeing him or feeling his energy in my backyard as i was playing in the sun as a child. i always had strong faith in Jesus and in a higher power. even as i moved away from religion, i never really stopped having faith in God. i just think religion is very toxic, and not just Christian or Catholic religions, but all religions as a whole. I believe it can be detrimental to not be open-minded to all sorts of beliefs and ideas, and i don’t like how religion is weaponized against people, especially women and minorities. I also don’t like how white-washed and exclusively male western religions are. this could turn into a whole tangent, so i’m just going to stop here.
i also love film!! i’m studying cinema production with a concentration in directing and a minor in screenwriting. my dream is to write and direct my own films.
my favorite film of all time is beauty and the beast. it’s been my favorite since i was three and would rewatch the movie 10x a day until the VHS broke. it’s the first movie that really touched my heart and that’s why it will always be my favorite.
i also love amélie, frances ha, uptown girls, me and earl and the dying girl, black swan, howl’s moving castle, and many more!
my favorite directors are sofia coppola, emerald fennel, greta gerwig, and emma seligman.
i also love damien chazelle, noah baumbach, darren aaronofsky, wes anderson, hayao miyazaki, gary trousdale and kirk wise, and who doesn’t like spielberg?
anyway, thank you for reading my rambling post. bye!
