Hi! This is not an usual content posted on this blog but this is really important.
Deaf Action Center (DAC), a non-profit agency in Dallas, TX, is dedicated to better the lives of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing through a variety of programs. One program they have is for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Senior Citizens. DAC has two old vans in horrible conditions that they use to bring the Senior Citizens around. As you may know, socialization is important for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and even more important for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Senior Citizens who are struggling with not just communication barriers but also mobility issues.
So the twin sisters Heidi and Hedy (well-known for their humorous videos on Youtube) and I made a video to raise money for new vans for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Senior Citizens. I have captioned the video for the non-ASL users (goo learn ASL if you haven’t). I also have uploaded my script for the Blind and the Deaf-Blind. The link is in the video description.
Enjoy the video! If you can, pleasee donate to http://www.northtexasgivingday.org/#npo/deaf-action-center Donations will be accepted from 6AM to midnight (Central Time Zone) on September the 17th. If a donation is over $25, North Texas Giving Day will multiply the donation! If you can’t, that’s okay! You can just reblog and boost this. Thank you! ^__^
