Kevin frowned a bit at her reaction, honestly he should have expected that but he'd be lying if he said it didn't hurt. "Do you mind if I walk with you a bit, this might be the only time I actually get to talk with you with Kenny pretty much banning it. Speaking of which," he pressed a finger to his lips, "You think you can not tell him, I'm kind of trying to get on good terms with you guys and this might not help that out like...any." He shoved his hands in his pockets.
"You went to the hospital," he couldn't stop the look of shame on his face, "Yeah, I'm doing...better. My bones aren't broken anymore at least." He scratched the back of his head, "I don't really want to talk about that though. How have you been? How's school? What're you doing out this late anyway?"
Karen knew she should just say no to him, but it was so rare to see him making a effort. She kept telling herself not to get her hopes up as she nodded at her brother. "Yeah, we can walk for a little bit. I won't tell him, he'd be just as upset with me.." She didn't kow how to react to him saying he wanted to be on good terms with them, she felt like Kenny would never get over what Kevin did and their relationship was a lost cause at this point. "Oh.." "Yeah, Henrietta took me once. We didn't want to wake you up." she nodded, relieved to hear that he was better. She wanted to ask him more about what happened, but she let him drop the topic. "Well.. Good. I'm moving out at the end of the month. School is okay, I'm did pretty well last year. And I was over at Ruby's, I lost track of time. What are you doing out here? Where are you staying?" She walked along side him, keeping a eye out for Kenny or one of his friends.
