BroadwayWorld.com is devasted to report the news that Les Miserables cast member Kyle Jean-Baptiste died last evening at the too young age of 21 after an accident at home.
YGA and our extended theatre community sends our love and prayers to a colleague, friend, and amazing talent Kyle Jean-Baptiste. Young Gotham Arts was founded by two LaGuardia alums and has had many LaG students as a part of its community who had the privilege to know Kyle and call him friend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. We've lost a man whose talent and ambition were changing Broadway for the better.
Join Young Gotham Arts as we celebrate the launch of our 2015 season with a cabaret of original works of musical theatre by composers and lyricist under 21. Every penny raised goes to support our 2015 season of youth generated art and YGA's ongoing mentorship of aspiring young artists.

We've Chosen Our Show
This year Young Gotham's final show will be The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh!
Director Aaron Toplin returns to the Tank Theater to tackle this daring and disturbing piece. The show will run from August 14-17. More information to come, but mark your calendars for this awesome theatrical experience!

Welcome to our Second Season!
We are Young Gotham Arts, a non-profit arts collective supporting and producing the works of playwrights, actors, filmmakers, musicians and other performance artists under 25. Our mission is to provide a space in which young artists can obtain experience and bring exposure to an otherwise under produced demographic of artists.
Our semi-annual Young Gotham Arts Series features quality works of theatre, film, and music by New Yorkers under 21. Last year the Young Gotham Arts Series was a small event borne out of the dreams of Owen Campbell and Nia Ashley. With no funding, we put together three events: a reading of short plays by playwrights under 21, a screening of short films by filmmakers under 18, and an improv luncheon with great food and great comedy. This year, we’re growing exponentially. The season will start off with a cabaret fundraiser in early July. In mid July we are fully producing original short works with young adult directors, actors, and production crews. In early August, we will be screening short films. Finally, in August we are putting on a full length production at The Tank Theater.
As you can see we want to make our second season better than the first.
