Personality: Very social, talks a lot. She has a bad temper when you make her mad, though. She cares for her friends a lot and will stick with them through thick and thin.

When she's not hanging out with her best friend Lyra, she's usually either in the camp forge or in the Hephaestus cabin, working on one of fifteen different unfinished projects. She heavily leans into the mechanical aspect of her talents, and she loves making random little things just for the fun of it. Leo Valdez is her idol, she looks up to him more than anyone else, even if he's never in camp.

[Off in the distance, hiding in a bush, Karla looked at Lucas, scanning him.. hoping he wasn't another illusion, or a monster playing tricks on her. Why would he even be here?? Unless.. she was finally out, somehow..? She grabbed her sword, not wanting to risk it, and leapt out of the bush. She tried to do some tactical roll, to catch the Lucas look-alike by surprise, but her foot caught on something, and she sort of just tumbled around, almost cutting herself with her sword. She landed at Lucas' feet, a bit disoriented for a moment, before standing up and holding her sword in her hands, prepared to fight if needed.]

Lucas was- very confused as a child- teenager, tripped and fell right in front of him, the multi eyed creature nearby, Peri, gave a annoyed huff, meanwhile Lucas- he knelled down with a worried look. He doesn’t know her well but- yeah, this is Karla. He didn’t really know her before but she’s seen Commodus’ photos and stuff from before and such- he hasn’t seen her really, like… ever. His brows were furrowed in confusion as he looked at the demigod on the ground, “Karla?? Good gods, are you alright?”

Clearly she wasn’t but like. He was WORRIED okay.

"I- no. I'm.. not alright. Who- what- is that?" Karla pointed her sword at the strange creature. Her sword looked.. concerningly like normal, regular iron. Her eyes darted back and forth, anticipating an attack. She looked exhausted.. and a little unhinged. She lightly tapped Lucas' shoulder with the end of her sword, staring to make sure it made contact, instead of passing right through. "You're real, alright.. but.. are you human..?"

Lucas moved his arm away at the gentle touch of the blade against it- it must just be a normal metal, yeah, it must be, the sword looked normal, THATS why he could feel it, yeah- yeah it- that must be it-

“This? Oh, he’s- I guess you didn’t meet him before. This is peri- I met them in Tartarus, but they don’t like people, so they aren’t around much. That’s why he hasn’t really met many of you..” He decided to focus more on the first question, the second one… ugh- it made him think of all the spiraling he’s done- those few times that celestial metals have hurt him, must have been flukes. He’s been attacked with it before and it went through him- it means NOTHING that recently it hasn’t been phasing through- Peri, as all this happened, just had the most unamused look ever, making a grumbly huff and sitting down.

She seemed so suspicious, so tired. She knew she couldn't trust a thing, not since..

[After wandering aimlessly for hours, maybe days, Karla had finally found him. Her brother, Theo. At least she hoped it was him. She prayed to every god she could think of that it was him. She ran as fast as she could, which wasn't all that fast, before tripping over her feet and landing on the ground in front of Theo. She was so exhausted she didn't even bother to stand up. If it wasn't him, if it was an illusion, or a monster, didn't matter. If this place wanted to kill her, it would have already. Karla just laid on the ground, heaving. Theo looked... honestly he hasn't changed that much. He didn't really know what was going on most of the time, and he wasn't bothered enough to care. He was just on his way to school, for some extracurricular or whatever- he didn't pay attention to the teacher when they told him he has to show up early. Probably some detention stuff because he's been avoiding it like the plague. Whatever, he didn't really care.

He seemed surprised that someone ran up to him, instinctively flinching back. It took him a moment to recognize the person in front of him, and when he did, he wanted to cry. He wanted to cry and scream and be angry and hug her at the same time. Where has she been? Why was she gone for so long? His legs felt like they were made of cotton candy, he wanted to run and cry and hug Karla and check on her and- he wanted to do everything and nothing at once, but instead he just stood there, staring. "...Karla...?"

[After a minute or two, Karla managed to shakily stand up. She looked slightly shorter.. and her shoulders were.. angled? Other than that, and a few scrapes and bruises, she looked alright. She looked at Theo, looking into his eyes, scanning him.]

"Is.. it you? Please.. say you're real.. I need you to be real.."

[She mumbled, tears welling up in her eyes.]

Theo stood there for a moment. He didn't move. Didn't really do much of anything. He didn't know how to prove he was real, because he's... honestly changed so much since they last saw each other. He had no clue what would make her believe he's himself. Finally, he grabbed the necklace he was wearing, the one she had given him all that time ago, the pendant dangling between them.

"I don't know how to prove I'm real. I just- maybe this will help?"

Karla's eyes focused on the pendant, and it took a moment to remember the significance of it. But as soon as she did, she lunged forward and wrapped her arms around Theo as tight as she could.

"Oh my gods.. oh my gods.. you.. you're here.. and you're safe.. and alive.. I'm so sorry.. I'm so.. so sorry..."

She broke into a fit of sobbing, digging her nails into Theo's arms. Five months in that wretched forest.. she didn't even know how she got out, or where she was, but she didn't care. She finally had her brother, that's all that mattered right now.

It honestly took everything in Theo not to push her away or hurt her out of instinct- probably because they haven't seen each other in so long. He didn't know how to behave- it's been forever. He just... He hoped she wasn't going to touch his back. It would he horrible having to explain whatever happened there.

"Whoa- yeah. Yeah I um- I'm alright. Are you- where- what- I-" About a million questions piled up in his head, none of which he could find the words to put them in. He wanted to ask if she was okay, to check what happened...

"I... don't know. Don't.. really wanna talk about it. Now right now." Karla pulled back after a moment and sighed. "I don't have the energy to explain everything." She took a moment to look around, nothing looked familiar at all. The tree line of the forest was behind them, and she shivered looking into it.

"Where... where even are we? Gods.. where's Dad? He must be worried sick.." She leaned on Theo's shoulder for support, having to put so much weight on one foot was killing her. "I.. I'll explain everything, eventually.. I just wanna get the fuck away from here."

He just nodded. He didn't want to push it. Not when she looks like this. He just really hoped everything would turn out alright. He decided that he wasn't going to go to school today, instead helping Karla get home. It was only right. He let her lean on him, leading her back home.

"Close to home. I go to school nearby, it's not that far." He said it like the fact that he was going to school wasn't a new thing. He paused at the 'dad' mention.. But seemed to brush whatever it was aside. "He's... where he usually is. Home. I guess. You should go see him..."

She nodded and took small, lanky steps, her left foot catching on random twigs and rocks. She paid close attention to his voice as he spoke,it had been so long since she had heard it. "You two.. had another fight or something?" She asked, quietly. She didn't want to pry, but the thought of Theo taking her to the palace if him and Commodus weren't on good terms made her nervous. She didn't want them fighting, not after being gone for so long.

"No-" He replied quickly, way too quickly, but it was true! He made sure to stay out of trouble, not worry or irritate anyone, essentially not be noticed when he doesn't need it. "No, nothing of the sort. I've just been busy, is all."

Well, it wasn't necessarily a lie! He was busy, and he didn't have a fight with Commodus, he was being honest! He didn't have time to socialize because of school.

"Oh...kay. If you say so." She nodded. She didn't know what to think.. she hoped that was true. Whatever the case, she needed to get somewhere she could sit down and rest for a minute or two. "I.. hope he isn't mad I've been gone.. or something..." She mumbled quietly.

He nodded back. He took her to the palace in awkward silence, not wanting to say anything in case it'd trigger something. "He won't be mad. You know him. He's just... he's going to be himself. He'll probably throw himself at you."

His legs felt like they were made of cotton candy, he wanted to run and cry and hug Karla and check on her and- he wanted to do everything and nothing at once, but instead he just stood there, staring. Theo stood there for a moment. He didn't move. Didn't really do much of anything. He didn't know how to prove he was real, because he's... honestly changed so much since they last saw each other. He had no clue what would make her believe he's himself. Finally, he grabbed the necklace he was wearing, the one she had given him all that time ago, the pendant dangling between them.

Karla's eyes focused on the pendant, and it took a moment to remember the significance of it. But as soon as she did, she lunged forward and wrapped her arms around Theo as tight as she could.

She broke into a fit of sobbing, digging her nails into Theo's arms. Five months in that wretched forest.. she didn't even know how she got out, or where she was, but she didn't care. She finally had her brother, that's all that mattered right now.

It honestly took everything in Theo not to push her away or hurt her out of instinct- probably because they haven't seen each other in so long. He didn't know how to behave- it's been forever. She took a moment to look around, nothing looked familiar at all. The tree line of the forest was behind them, and she shivered looking into it.

"Where... where even are we? Gods.. where's Dad? He must be worried sick.." She leaned on Theo's shoulder for support, having to put so much weight on one foot was killing her. "I.. I'll explain everything, eventually.. I just wanna get the fuck away from here."

He just nodded. He didn't want to push it. Not when she looks like this. He just really hoped everything would turn out alright. He decided that he wasn't going to go to school today, instead helping Karla get home. It was only right. He let her lean on him, leading her back home.

"Close to home. I go to school nearby, it's not that far." He said it like the fact that he was going to school wasn't a new thing. He paused at the 'dad' mention.. But seemed to brush whatever it was aside. "He's... where he usually is. Home. I guess. You should go see him..."

She nodded and took small, lanky steps, her left foot catching on random twigs and rocks. She paid close attention to his voice as he spoke,it had been so long since she had heard it. "You two.. had another fight or something?" She asked, quietly. She didn't want to pry, but the thought of Theo taking her to the palace if him and Commodus weren't on good terms made her nervous. She didn't want them fighting, not after being gone for so long.

He was just on his way to school, for some extracurricular or whatever- he didn't pay attention to the teacher when they told him he has to show up early. Probably some detention stuff because he's been avoiding it like the plague. Whatever, he didn't really care.

He seemed surprised that someone ran up to him, instinctively flinching back. It took him a moment to recognize the person in front of him, and when he did, he wanted to cry. He wanted to cry and scream and be angry and hug her at the same time. Where has she been? Why was she gone for so long? His legs felt like they were made of cotton candy, he wanted to run and cry and hug Karla and check on her and- he wanted to do everything and nothing at once, but instead he just stood there, staring. "...Karla...?"

She tried to do some tactical roll, to catch the Lucas look-alike by surprise, but her foot caught on something, and she sort of just tumbled around, almost cutting herself with her sword. She landed at Lucas' feet, a bit disoriented for a moment, before standing up and holding her sword in her hands, prepared to fight if needed.]

as it stands he was using every once of self control in his body to not reach for the bottle, it's the tail end of 48 hours and he's determined,but the craving gets worse at night, probably because that's when he always drank the most,he didn't want his kids who had a..less than ideal history with drunken parents to get worried.

so he did his best to take his mind off it, which lead him to the training grounds, punching the training dummies for about thirty minutes straight.]
