"Trans people were invented by doctors in the 1950s"
I know sometimes people who've read the Kyoshi novels wonder what would have happened if Yun had not gone dark, if they would have gotten together.
And to be honest, even if Yun had not gone full villain and they had gotten together, I really don't think they would have worked as a couple. Part of this comes from the fact that Yun honestly was never in love with Kyoshi.
Now, hear me out here, I'm not saying he didn't care about Kyoshi or that he didn't love her; he truly cared about her in a platonic way and at some point he did feel something else. But that was for the Kyoshi at Yokoya. Kyoshi the servant girl who picked up after him and was gentle to him. Not the Kyoshi we see later, the real Kyoshi. We see later that that Kyoshi —the one Kyoshi herself feels proud of being in the final fight against him— actually kind of disgusts him. He tries to infantilize her, strip her of her fans and the elements that feel foreign for him, to revert her back to the version of Kyoshi he liked instead of the actual version now: Avatar Kyoshi. And that's another thing here: dark or not, I don't think Yun would have gotten over that easily the fact that Kyoshi was the Avatar and not him. Even if he did eventually come to terms with it and they could have still been friends, I really don't think their relationship would have ever been the same.
People also do not take into consideration that by the beginning of Rise of Kyoshi, the crush Kyoshi had had on Yun had started fading a while ago —she still loved him, of course, but with time the romantic feelings were fading— and she already had started having feelings for Rangi, even if she herself didn't fully realize it until she was crashing through walls in Chameleon Bay thinking Rangi looked gorgeous while they running from the cops (which sure is a way to have your 'oh' moment). Yun himself realized it and knew there was something going on between them. Honestly, with her feelings for Rangi in the middle now, I don't think Kyoshi would have gotten together with Yun. I think Kyoshi would have ended with Rangi either way. They do seem more compatible as well, because while Yun only liked a particular version of Kyoshi —the one that was a gentle girl and him the stronger figure who was protective— Rangi loved Kyoshi. Every version of her, the servant girl and the daofei and the Avatar. Just Kyoshi.

If you fucks actually go through with not voting on your next USA president elections and subsequently lead Trump to power again.
Yes. Yes I'm going to blame every single American for that. Collective responsibility and all that jazz.
Explaining in simple terms: if you don't vote for Biden because "he is murdering palestinian babies", you will get Trump as a president, who, being an open and proud islamophobe, will murder even more palestinian babies.
It is no good situation when you have to choose between two shitty candidates. But you have a two-party system.
russia has previously aided trump during elections, and they will do so again. A call to boycott the elections = a call to support trump
You are in no position to afford the privilege of being idiots.
Also this.
Also, a lot of his goons have been filling a LOT of important spots in the military and civilian fields to have positions available for trump to fill in with his loyalists and to easier do a hostile takeover if he wins the election.
IF YOU DON'T VOTE FOR BIDEN YOU WILL GET A DICTATORSHIP BY TRUMP AND WE WILL ALL BE FUCKED
I don't know how many times we have to tell people to make everythingin their power to stop Trump from coming to power again. USA will be fucked. Ukraine will be fucked. Palestine would be fucked. We don't know how many other countries will be fucked.
Trump's presidency already gave cart blanche for the international far right rise, and I don't think we need to spell out to people that the state of the world today is directly credited to Trump's presidency, his incompetence, him being Russian puppet, etc etc.
As much as I am actually an opponent of the whole idea that USA is responsible of everything in the world, it does have a huge influence on international politics scene.
SO GO VOTE.
And since USA is a democracy, then, again, y'all are responsible for the president you elect.
I made a Kyoshi statue in my Minecraft world…to be fair I’m not even sure of the reason.

Avatar Wan created the Avatar Cycle
Avatar Szeto unified the Fire Islands
Avatar Yangchen kept peace in all nations
Avatar Kuruk battled dark spirits
Avatar Kyoshi stabilized the Earth Kingdom and stopped Chin the Conqueror
Avatar Roku
Avatar Aang ended the Hundred Year War and helped create a new nation
Avatar Korra brought back the spirits and helped rebuild the Air Nation
All past Avatars seem to have at least one fuckup or a regret that one or more of their next lives will have to deal with.
Szeto, quite literally, worked for the Fire Lord of his time. Although his work brought peace and prosperity to the Fire Nation, ending the conflicts that were destroying the islands, it also caused a centralization of the administration that would later allow Fire Lord Zoryu and his descendants to centralize all the power, which would end up leading to Sozin and the Hundred Year War. Since he seemed to prioritize the Fire Nation, he most likely neglected the rest of the world, too, which means that Yangchen had to step up more for international issues.
Yangchen was a highly revered Avatar to the point that she was deified; she helped the nations progress and flourish. However, focusing too much on human matters and always favoring humans, she neglected spirits. That led to Kuruk having to deal with the consequences.
Kuruk, unlike Yangchen, focused too much on Spirit World issues—to the point that it cost him his life and died very young—, seemingly neglecting human issues, causing the Peace of Yangchen's era to deteriorate very quickly. His premature death and apparent neglect led to Kyoshi having to deal with a very unstable world.
Kyoshi managed to stabilize the world during her extremely long life—in contrast to Kuruk's short life—and is remembered as a highly effective and respected Avatar. However, her big mistake and regret was the creation of the Dai Li, which would later help with the Conspiracy of Ba Sing Se, help Azula conquer the city or start kidnapping the new airbenders: overall, give Aang and Korra headaches.
Roku enjoyed relative stability at first after Kyoshi's death, though this didn't last that long; he lived through a industrial revolution and the rise of nationalism in more than one nation. He was a very diplomatic Avatar who managed to stop a war between the Northern Water Tribe and the Earth Kingdom, and became a respected Avatar. However, he was indecisive when it came to stopping his former friend Sozin, which was probably the biggest mistake and regret: it led to the genocide of a whole nation and a war that lasted a hundred years, leaving Aang to deal with it.
Aang ended the Hundred Year War and helped create a new nation where people from everywhere could leave peacefully. However, by letting Yakone live and escape prison, and failing to fully give nonbenders a voice in Republic City, caused Korra a lot of headaches with Amon and the equalists. Furthermore, another one of his biggest regrets was running away before the Air Nomad Genocide (although it was not really his fault, he was a child and an untrained Avatar and had he stayed, he probably wouldn't have been able to avoid it: he would have probably died too or been captured), and his biggest wish was to rebuild the Air Nation one day, which Korra did during her life, making up for what he thought was his biggest mistake.
Korra will probably have one of those mistakes/regrets too, and I really wonder what it'll be. We know it likely won't be neglect of neither spirituality or human issues like Yangchen or Kuruk, since she seems pretty focused on both. So far her biggest regret seems to be losing the ability to make contact with her past lives, so maybe it'll be that? The next Avatar will somehow manage to regain their connection with the rest of the past Avatars? Doesn't seem likely to me but idk. Or maybe more Red Lotus bullshit, since in the show they said that there were probably more members and Korra didn't stop them all? Idk
Read the fucking Avatar novels
Written by F. C. Yee, they follow the adventures of the avatars 2 and 4 generations prior to aang, Kyoshi and Yangchen.
It's two duologies, as you may be able to infer.
They offer some incredible action, maturity beyond the shows, different takes on the role of the avatar, and are incredibly well written. Also have canonically queer characters and THEY'RE FUCKING AMAZING.
Legacy came out like a week ago and I think it may be the last novel, at least from Yee's writing, but these four books are up there with some of the best content Avatar has ever offered.
I always see people say they want to see more of past avatars, complaining about Korra losing that connection to her past lives, etc. Well HERE IT FUCKING IS. TWO STORIES ABOUT TWO AVATARS, ONE OF WHICH IS A FAN FAVORITE. It's so fucking frustrating. These books are so good I wanna cry.
Also don't be fooled. If you think Yangchen's gonna be similar to aang because she's an airbender you are sorely mistaken.
i love that rangi wss describe as tall for a woman and looks like this next to kyoshi
