my main thing is… imo there’s only one difference between akechi and the phantom thieves. the phantom thieves each had love and support from someone who wanted to help them through a shitty situation. akechi never had that, or at least never felt like he had.

that’s it. that’s the one separating akechi from the phantom thieves. any of them could have ended up like akechi if it wasn’t for the fact people noticed they were struggling and helpd, and yusuke points out that he believes he could have fallen down the same path if it wasn’t for his new friends.

akechi even tells joker that if they met a few years earlier, or just under different circumstances, they could have been friends.

imo, akechi wanted to change. he just didn’t think he could.

also he has a very baby aesthetic going on and i like it.
