Aromantic/Arospec Awareness Week is coming up the week after Valentineâs Day! (Feb 17-23)
Itâs one of my favorite weeks of the year because it gives me the chance to discuss the arospec part of my identity :)
With that being said, here are some things to keep in mind!
Aromanticism is a real orientation.
Aromantic people arenât broken for not experiencing romantic attraction or for experiencing it differently than alloromantics.
Aromantic/Arospec people have a place in the lgbt community regardless of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
Religious Arospecs exist.
Aros/Arospecs of color exist.
Aromantic people deserve to celebrate their identity.
Aromantic nblnb/nblw/nblm exist
Aromantics who experience other types of attraction are no less important than those who experience romantic attraction
Arospec people (greyros, cupio, fray, demiro, etc) have every right to want to celebrate this week
Aromantic/Arospec people in relationships deserve to be happy about those relationships
Aromantic/Arospecs who arenât in a relationship are allowed to be happy about not being in one
Arospecs who want a relationship deserve to want to be in one
Aromantics/Arospecs deserve to be happy
Mentally ill Arospecs exist
Arospecs who love themselves are great!
Arospecs who struggle to accept themselves arenât any less great!
Aros who donât want to consider themselves lgbt donât have to!
Aromantics who identify as queer are lovely!
Aromantics who donât identify as queer are lovely!
Aros/Arospecs who donât want to celebrate donât have to!
Aromantic and Arospecs are loved and important and deserve to feel that way.
