Dear Residents of Liverpool,

We are writing to you today to tell you about how horrid litter is.

Litter is dangerous to animals and people. It can injure wildlife and cause accidents on roads.

London Underground collects 16 tonnes of litter every day. That is the weight of 4 adult elephants.

The maximum fine for dropping litter is £2,500.

In Singapore, chewing gum is banned. People who drop litter have their name and photograph put in the newspaper.

A plastic bottle takes forever to rot away, so recycle instead.

We hope that you will put your rubbish in a bin, recycle and remember to think about other poeple it might affect.

The story of Pentecost - the coming of the Holy Spirit - Literacy Dialogue and Plays

Scene 1 – A Dark Room In Jerusalem.

All of the apostles are sat together looking sad and afraid.

Peter: (Quietly to John)I am so sad, Jesus our best friend has died and now we have no one to lead us.

John: (Nodding)He showed us so many things. I am so afraid.

Matthew: (To John)Why are you afraid?

John: I’m afraid because people know we are Jesus’s friends, and some people did not like Jesus at all.

Mark: Did you hear that?!

Peter: (Shocked) It is very windy outside.

Mark: (Worried) Oh dear. The wind could blow this house over.

John: Did you see that light?

Matthew: I feel so strange these flames are all over.

Mark: Wow, I don’t feel scared, even though it is so windy and there are tongues of fire all around us.

Matthew: I feel different.

Peter: Different in a good way. But why are all those people outside?

Easter holiday homework

The Easter maths homework is to practise addition facts to 100. They can remind you how to add in number lines and by partitioning, they should also be able to remember and calculate some mentally. Copies of the sheets are available from the links posted on the blog.

Children might want to time themselves and repeat the exercise to see if they can improve their time.
