I sat at my desk contemplating what to write, trying to figure out the day old question; Who am I? ... I am Genevieve. I am a student. And I am ... distracted. Before long, I found myself face-timing friends, binge-watching Stranger Things and eventually ignoring all of my to-dos by spending the rest of my night spending time with my closest friends. What I realized is that perhaps the time I used to procrastinate illustrates who I truly am and what I value. First off, I value those close to me - my friends and family. I value creating memories with them and making “remember that one time” moments. I'm always up for an adventure, whether it be camping in a new provincial park, exploring abandoned warehouses or even going on a spontaneous road trip to an undiscovered city. I would consider myself an easy-going person who is always ready to meet new people and face challenges. Those are the basics. When it comes to specifics, that is to say who I am as a person? Well, one word comes to mind: obsessive. Obsessed with horror, in love with the 70s, and in awe of design. To be more specific, I am a horror movie fanatic; captivated by the adrenaline that rushes through me during ‘pop up' scares. My fascination for the 70s is unending in that my wardrobe is inspired by the movie ‘Dazed and Confused' and I find myself spending hours admiring modern architecture and illustrations from that decade. When I'm not being hypnotized by vintage art or horror movies, you may find me out with friends as I try to make the most out of my day. It truly is hard to answer the question; Who am I? However, if there is one thing I know for certain about myself, it is that my I am Genevieve Bensason.
