On this day, 59 years ago, the Beatles preformed "All You Need Is Love" at EMI Studios for the first-ever global satellite television broadcast, Our World.

But, on this day, we also celebrate the impact this band has had on us, other musicians, and the world.

Global Beatles day was created by Faith Cohen in 2009. This is the first year it's officially recognized by Apple Corps.

This global Beatles day, tell us the story of how you got into the Beatles!

Me personally, my parents always had the Beatles playing around the house. They had their “1” cd and I would play it all the time. (Almost breaking the cd player in the process.) Anyway, since I was so little, I was obviously drawn to “Yellow Submarine,” and I would always skip to that track.

Since I wasn’t fluent in English at that time, (I was four,) I would ask my mom, “Why do they keep saying, ‘yeah yeah yeah’? What does that mean?” She had no idea how to respond.

I became a real beatlemaniac a boy a year ago, and I have been lost in the mania since. 💔

For me, I always knew who they were but never really interested until you started talking to me about them DAILY and I admired your love for the Beatles so much that I became a fan myself!

I think a lot of the Olivia Arias/Harrison hate is disguised as preferring Pattie when it’s really just racism.

I love both girls and do not have a preference when it comes to them as an individual. But anyone who knows about George’s relationships with them would know DAMN well that his relationship with Olivia was much healthier.

As i wrote, this is an AU where when the beatles broke up john and Paul got closer instead of nemesises and they ever met yoko or linda. Paul realises that he cant stay silent forever and decides he will tell john at afternoon tea but he chickens out and john accidentally blurts out that he is in love with paul while oversharing about his feeings. And they live happily ever after.
