Do not get me wrong, I've watched The Adventures of Buratino (1975) a while ago and I love the film on a personal level, but the aesthetification of it, more specifically on Pinterest, is slowly starting to get on my nerves, especially when people say things such as "Either be or find yourself a man like Piero." Friendly reminder that the "man" in question is a literal child, that most of the characters from this film are children in captivity and that a key-subject which is either implied or straight-up up explicit in most Pinocchio/Buratino adaptations and ecranisations is child labour and trafficking. Just because Alexei Tolstoy erased a lot of aspects from the original Fairy Tale in order to make it less disturbing that doesn’t make it any less concerning, and by focusing strictly on the aesthetics of this adaptation you're basically glamourizing what this movie AND the original source materials are criticizing.
