my partner is only 40 but nestled within him is the soul of an elderly man
Cops: he was quiet, kept to himself, no one would’ve suspected him
16 year old girl who lived 4 doors down the road: he was creepy as shit, my dog hated him, my little brother cried when he walked past the house and when I was 14 he sniffed me as I walked past him, we all knew he was a freak but we had no set proof so the cops didn’t do shit
bingewatching will never come close to bingereading. there is nothing like blocking out the entire Earth for ten hours to read a book in one sitting no food no water no shower no bra and emerging at the end with no idea what time it is or where you are, a dried-up prune that's sensitive to light and loud noises because you've been in your room in the dark reading by the glow of a single LED. it's like coming back after a three-month vacation in another dimension and now you have to go downstairs and make dinner. absolutely transcendental

okay ❤️ yay ❤️
buying stupid things that you would die to have as a kid really does heal something inside you
HONESTLY also like. part of combatting misinformation is just accepting that you'll fall victim to it sometimes. no-one can be an expert on every imaginable subject and most people don't have the time to factcheck every single piece of information that comes their way. the key thing IMO is responding appropriately when someone points misinfo ie not doubling down and being like 'no there's no way I could be wrong about this'.
i hope oceangate gets sued to hell for violating basic safety principles in pursuit of profit, i hope a teenager doesn’t die a horrible death, and i hope the world pays much more attention to the fact that 500 migrants died that same horrible death last week in a completely preventable sinking that was engineered by bureaucratic racism and cruelty. where were their millions of dollars and manpower hours in rescue efforts?
I hope Barbie is so good and successful it makes every executive that’s turned everything bright and fun made for young girls into edgy boring teen dramas for the last ten years spontaneously combust into flames
bilf (book i'd like to finish)
im so done with seeing articles about kids and screen time that doesnt mention parent behaviors even once. “kids are always on their phones” so are the parents! which the kids look to for how they should behave! ipad babies didn’t chose to only play on their ipads, thats what their parents gave them!
an anecdotal example: when i was a kid, all my parents would do in their minimal free time was watch tv and then they would be surprised when in my sister and i’s minimal free time we would also only watch tv/play video games. they scolded us for not reading books, but they never read books. they scolded us for not going outside but they never went outside.
“kids are always on their damn phones” my mom is in her 60s and opens up candy crush anytime she’s sitting — it isnt just the kids
children outside screaming: annoying but ultimately for the greater good. children need Going Outside and Screaming Time for proper emotional development. an auditory burden I am willing to bear
neighbor with his car he made louder on purpose: jail for neighbor. jail for ten thousand years
I always am about to go to sleep at a beautiful 11pm and then something happens to me
