안녕 해다 언니! ^ㅇ^ Unnie, please tell me what is the least preferred by Koreans? for example, ask about something? and how polite way to get acquainted (first meet) to the Korean people? sometimes I say things are a bit painful and I do not know it.. thank you 해다 언니 ㅎㅎ I'll ask next time ㅋㅋㅋ
Just smile a lot and be favourable. If Korean people offer you food, try it. If you don't like it, that's fine, but don't decline it at your first instance without even trying. And I'm not really sure what kind of answer you are looking for... You have to give me specific examples of 'painful' questions then I can give you some directions.
Do you know what Koreans think of Taecgui couple in WGM Global Edition? I initially ship the couple, but after Ep6, I was turned off by Taecyeon's insensitivity and his "I'm every woman's dream" kinda vibe. It's disappointing towards the end that Taec seems glad that the filming will be over soon. Guigui is such a sweet honest girl that most fans watching Taecgui couple adore her more than Taec. Hope this didn't offend you~
To be honest, I didn't watch any episodes of WGM. Nothing personal, I just never got into WGM ever since it started many years ago. And by Koreans do you mean non-fans or fans? K-fans' reactions would be biased of course lol. But I think I remember seeing some tweets saying that Taec seems like he is just doing his job. By the way, WGM (especially World edition) is not so popular in Korea. Only fans or a small number of viewers would watch it.
is living in the province, like in Daegu pretty much differ from living in Seoul? Is the food different? thanks for answering!
This is probably a far too late reply, I apologise... Living in Daegu would be different to Seoul of course - you can't compare any cities with Seoul. But the food would be very much similar anywhere in the country. Daegu is extremely hot in summer. Although it's a much smaller city to Seoul, it would still have a decent transport system such as bus and subway.
I've read about sasaeng fans' behaviours on various sites. Do you know if 2PM face the same problem? I pray they do not have extreme fans leaving their extreme trails annoying the heck out of them. Thanks~
Rejoice~ as 2PM does not have any sasaeng fans ^^
hi .. first of all i really like your tumblr and thanks for answering kpop related question :) i want to ask is there have another meaning of anchovy in korean ? i just curious cause K-netizens seem like to use this word to describe someone in bad way.. thanks ^^
Lol good question. Korean people often refer to 'not-so-attractive' people as 'squids. You may have seen this from Chansung's twitter post not long ago. He referred himself as a squid when he saw Won Bin lolAnchovy on the other hand is very small and thin. Therefore it is used to refer someone who is very unattractively thin. Funny but sad at the same time! Lol...
what's the reaction of the general public in taec's film and also his new drama? thanks for answering!
I don't really know why people ask about the general public's opinion about something. To be honest, I don't care what the public thinks because whatever they say it really has got nothing to do with the idol or celebrity's predicted performance prior to the actual show. But because you asked, I don't think there are too many negative reactions but you know... Haters gon hate - antis will react negatively whatsoever!
Is it true that you can't show cleavage and shoulders in Korea? What do girls wear in the summer?? will people lynch you for showing cleavage/shoulders/back ?
First of all, read this post!
Basically, they just wear super short shorts or skirts and they would wear sleeveless shirts or dresses. Showing cleavage, open shoulders and back seen as a no-no. But then if you're a foreigner (non-Asian) you have a little bit of liberty of what you wanna wear and not really get cringed at...lol It's a culture thing so it's nothing to be surprised about!
Is anti-Khuntoria same as anti-Khunfanny? or Koreans prefer Khunfanny more since Tiffany of SNSD is more popular than Victoria of F(X)?
You should know that Korean fans DO NOT like pairing up their oppas with other girl group members AT ALL. This applies to ANY fandom. Naturally, neither Khuntorian nor Khunfanny are welcomed by the majority of the Korean fans.
hello there! you really are so patient in answering all the questions. thank you for all the info. anyway, i'm just wondering, how's the public reaction with Suzy's acting in her drama Gu Family Book? thanks!
Hi, there. There are 2 general reactions to her acting but none of which are on the extremes.
1) She needs to work on her pronunciation of words & delivery of lines.2) Her acting ain't so bad.
No real hate in the general reactions so chill!
i am going to korea in summer and i am being honest i am quite fat which i have no problem with normally but just wondering what korea's reaction to fat people is? i have been told they value thin-ness but can i expect people to stare and point and laugh in public? or are people in general more discreet with their reaction. i am also asian.
Hey there. I'll be honest with you - I'm fat too. I couldn't fit any of the clothes from Korean stores. But you know what? During my 1 year stay in Korea, I didn't feel any discrimination at all. And I'm a Korean myself. It can get annoying being unable to find pretty clothes and a little disheartening to see all the skinny girls AND boys but that's just Korea for you. People won't just randomly go up to your face and discriminate you for who you are... That's just extreme!! They'll say nasty stuff online but they're not gonna do it in front of that person.
i heard beast won without even promoting. pity our boys. i dunno what happen. their physical sales, selling more than 100k, how come they din win? I hear bcos their digital sales is low. is that that important in korea? then if its low, what that indicates? is that means, they have less k-fans nowadays? sigh. its a pity.
Digital Sales takes up a higher proportion in the Korean music industry. You must realise that 2PM has been away from the K-pop scene for 2 years. This is plenty of time to be forgotten by the general public. The digital sales are important because it’s something that cannot be covered by the fans only. If the digital sales go up, it most likely means that the general public are also buying these songs. It just indicates that 2PM needs to be more exposed on Korean TV, especially famous variety shows in order to get their name out there into the general public’s minds. Then it’ll help the general public become familiar with the group, leading them to buying the group's songs, etc.
Hi, I'm interested to pursue master degree in Korea. Would you please provide me a brief description about how is it to study in Korea? I mean information such as what are the best universities for international students, which cities are more comfortable to study, do Korean people in general welcome students from abroad, and so on? Thanks a bunch!
As much as I would love to help you, unfortunately, the only bit of schooling I ever did in Korea was my first and partially second year of elementary school. I wouldn't have a clue about which universities are best for international students... Maybe Egle could help you? She took some papers at a university in Korea.
hi! i have one question.how korean press review of junho debut acting?
Overall, VERY GOOD. And I mean it!
Hey can I know what's the article about chansung mentioning politics about? Was it something good or bad? Thanks!
https://twitter.com/0125_/status/347590451538313216
National Intelligence Service (NIS) is accused of being involved in the presidential election. Universities are "Declaring" demanding for answers.
Basically, university students want to know the truth about the presidential elections. According to the news, NIS left unfair/hate comments about opposing parties and their leaders on SNS, when they should not be involved in this kind of thing whatsoever.
Are you Korean?
Ethically, yes.By law, no.
sorry for bother you... but would you mind to translate this banana milk statuse on fb abt Junho? [i can't put the link on]... i can't find the trans everywhere, and google trans couldn't help at all, i'm still confused >< really sorry for bother you...
