Dear Freshmen,
Study hard. It’s tripe, it’s been said… but really, study hard. Aim for A+s in every single class, even that gym class with the smelly guy and the psychotic maniac who sends rubber balls into your stomach at 90mph.
Those dreams you have? They’re so much more tangible if you study hard, if you get into a good school. Study hard so you can get into a good college, enjoy a good life, never have to worry about not making enough to cover this month’s rent.
Don’t have dreams? Study hard, because one day you will have dreams.
Study hard so you can travel the world.
Study hard so you can get scholarships. Study hard so you won’t have to sit behind a desk for thirty years, collating forms, to pay off your student loans.
Study hard so you can be an example, a good example, for every other freshman entering high school, so these kids can see what studying has for them, so these kids can go to college and achieve and never have to worry about this month’s rent and food and How am I going to pay this off?
