I'm pretty much not happy at all that people referring Touken Ranbu as "Gay swords". The thing is, it's pretty much disrespectful for the actor and the whole series that doesn't even put any romantic things on their plays. And as always, if you aren't even bother to watch or even to know the shows and such, then don't even bother to refer them as something like that.

(I found this when i was reading Oshi no Ko. The manga itself is interesting but found this page really gave me a turn off for this series. If you want to educate your reader then try to educate it without using an offensive things)

It really annoys me when people think a series is gay or for gay men just because it’s full of beautiful guys. I saw a lot of comments like that about Touken Ranbu Warriors. The Touken Ranbu franchise is joseimuke, aimed at women in general, not aimed at gay men or fujoshi only. Apparantly a lot of people (mostly men) do not get this.

Exactly! I dislike a lot how people disrespect touken ranbu and other productions sometimes. It is very sad, the actors are putting a lot of effort in the musical and the stage, they don't deserve their reputation to be ruined like this. I mean, sadly people out there can be incredibly homophobic, and they can get the wrong idea about the musical / stage and hate it.

Right?!? I mean if you're not even get what is 2.5D or such, and want to educate your reader, at least try to just take some word from wikipedia or ask some of the fans to Educate you about 2.5D and after that, you can educate another people about this shows. And if you want to educate another people, try to be as neutral as possible. Your opinion about 2.5D made people got wrong idea about the shows.

And the way the translator gave a nickname for Touken Ranbu showed us that they knew nothing about the game or the franchise itself.

Unique Media Experience

Reposting my Twitter thread about Touken Ranbu over to Tumblr, plus expanding on it a lil after the fact.

The ending to Touken Ranbu’s Great Invasion event and how fandom as a whole reacted show that as a media, Touken Ranbu is wholly unique among every other franchises.

I doubt we ever would have another similiar experience like Touken Ranbu in another media. Other media and games have tried to replicate their formula to various level of success/failure, or try to release their games during Touken Ranbu’s hype period.

This is what i thought about how Touken Ranbu had bunch of adaptation and none of them are wrong to interpret. While Saniwa themself able to made different story in their Honmaru and you can call it "Canon" by yourself. Not to mention Touken Danshi are all unique and lovable. Only in this game i tried to make my characters all strong so they can "Protect what is precious to them"
