Top 5 favorite Shinee MV’s
Now, literally every MV of Shinee’s is legendary, but these five are my personal favorites. With that being said, this is just visually speaking, not the songs themselves. This list is just the videos I enjoy just…seeing the most! Feel free to let me know what your top 5 Shinee MV list is!
1. Get The Treasure - Five (2017)
This was their last MV as five members, as well as their most recent MV. I feel like a lot of Shawols slept on this song…or at least I don’t hear a lot about it from others….Either way, just the whole thieves concept really got me going, as the song is about getting treasure. This MV has definitely gotta be one of their more badass and darker videos, and it was refreshing (as always) to see Shinee do a new concept.
2. Downtown Baby - I’m Your Boy (2014)
Another Japanese song of theirs, Downtown Baby was a fun video! It’s full of colors and happiness. Also, they have a much more urban style in this MV, kinda like an edgy, badass, yet cute concept. And people really don’t talk about how they slay their black and white clothing in this video. Definitely an underrated (or at least not so talked about) video.
3. Married to the Music - Married to the Music (2015)
Besides Red Velvet, Shinee did do a horror, Halloween, concept that was funky and silly. For me, the whole losing-body-parts thing was unexpected, and hilarious to watch. I liked the ways the video just looked like a spooky, childish, and ridiculous MV. This is a concept I don’t see many kpop groups doing, and Shinee definitely rocked it with their signature style.
4. Everybody - Everybody (2013)
This is HALF A DECADE OLD and yet Everybody doesn’t look like it aged that much (visually speaking)! Shinee brought back their cool side with the whole robotic, army-style, cool concept, and it worked wonderfully. I think it really marked how Shinee’s image still felt and was the same, even five years after their debut, and just showed how far they’d come not just musically speaking, but also just with growing up. It was a very different comeback, and during the time, extremely new.
5. 1 of 1 - 1 of 1 (2016)
Surprisingly, I never noticed how not a lot of Kpop groups did a 90s concept. But Shinee did, and they killed it. It was a totally different comeback, and it was extremely refreshing. For me, it really showed why I like Shinee as a group so much: because they don’t really conform to a lot of the typical K-pop standards. They could range from being super edgy (Ring Ding Dong, Lucifer, Everybody) to being cute, charming guys (Replay, Hello, Boys Meet You) to going old school! They don’t have a real describable theme or concept like many kpop groups nowadays do….yet they do? Even while being in the middle of a transition from 2nd gen to 3rd gen, they keep up by doing things their own way, and earning everyone’s respect and applause for their performances and effort. I felt like 1 of 1 just really showed that.
