☀️🔥🌈 𝕻𝖗𝖎𝖒𝖊 𝕱𝖑𝖆𝖗𝖊 ✨ 31x 41 cm gouache on watercolor paper

One of my favorite things about working on this piece was playing with strong color contrasts (and even the white of the paper itself) while still trying to keep the image clear and easy to read.

I also wanted to push the composition a bit further, aiming for a sense of movement and energy while maintaining an overall balance and symmetry. It was a great challenge, but I feel this personal piece has given me a clearer direction with my art.

There were more than 10 sketch versions for this piece, even though I had a clear idea from the start. This challenge has taught me so much about my pursuit, intentions, and thought process. Enhancing the lyrical aspect in my work is one of my main goals, and I’m happy with how I’ve achieved it with this piece.

For my personal project of Pirate witches ✨ I'm quite happy with this piece! The biggest one so far, ambitious colors and scene, depicting two opposite sides working together. It was fun to represent their magic, similar but so opposite in color, shape and flow. Hope you like it ❤️

Fire Pact

Cloud Ladder to the Moon watercolour & mixed media on paper

Excited to share that I’ve been part of 3dtotal's latest book project: Hokusai: An Artist’s Tribute! Fourteen artists (including me!) were invited to reimagine masterpieces of Katsushika Hokusai. You might not recognize his name, but you definitely know his iconic work, The Great Wave Off Kanagawa (yes, THAT wave painting).

We each documented a 15-step process showcasing how we created our pieces from start to finish. Each of us shared insights into our inspiration and artistic choices throughout the process. In my chapter, you’ll see how I recreated Hokusai’s original ink drawing, ‘Daoist Master Zhou Sheng Ascends a Cloud-Ladder to the Moon' to this very painting here
