“Cats are cold, detached & unloving.”
“Cats are not loyal.”
“A cat will not greet you at the door.”
“You can not train a cat”
“Cats aren’t that smart.”
“Cats aren’t that good with children.”
“Cats don’t miss you when you’re gone.”
“Cats don’t comfort you when you’re feeling down.”
What a load of crap !!! One thing for certain… cats don’t give a rat’s ass what B.S. you tell about them. They refuse to care less, either about what you think of them, or about the people they love.
“Cats don’t miss you when you’re gone” is a ton of bs. Whenever I leave to go anywhere, I can hear my cats meowing at the door within moments trying to find me. They sit in the window watching for me to come home and they are at the door to greet me almost every single time.
Cats also grieve. This cat watches a video of their owner who had passed away and he tries to cuddle up with the phone. The look on his face when they zoom in on him brings me to tears every time.
One of our cats comes and sleeps next to me when he sees that I’m not feeling well. If he’s in the kitchen when I come down for food with cramps or with a cold, he’ll follow me back upstairs and lay down on me and purr.
Cats are aloof animals who don’t put up with nonsense, will defend their boundaries with claws, and sometimes like to push things down to see what happens, but they aren’t jerks.
Weekly anatomy tip!
This week I tackle feet. I know how many of you asked for it.
It is hard topic indeed. It’s hard to draw nice looking character with feet that doesn’t look believable.
A lot practice is needed. I just presented few ideas and now you have to put it to practice.
Hope this helps !
Helpful resource for a tricky topic!

So I just wanted to show some tricks that will improve your webcomic/comic;
So down below we have a quick random page-sketch, if you ask me, it’s really easy to follow and here’s the fundamentals as to why:
1: Comics are Theatre
So a thing to remember that will put a zing on your comics is to have people do gestures, notice below how how the two characters are using their body language along with the second most expressive body part; The hands.
Reason why I say that people should remember Comics as Theatre is because on stage the actors had to do wide expressive motions with their bodies to convey to an audience that could be sitting far away on who is talking and what their mood is. ( this is why William Shatner is so expressive and all over the place during Star Trek. Because he was used to be on theatre.)
If you do notice in movies however, you can spot that the body language is kept subtle. This is because with movies you can get close to the actor and notice the changes in their faces and small things like fidgeting with their fingers to express restlessness…. in comics, this is super hard to express the latter and you could accidentally end up with just characters standing right up in a pose ( i see a lot of new comic artists trying to convey the subtleness of a movie into a comic, and it ends….pretty boring.)
TL;DR: try to express your characters like an actor of stage would! Don’t be shy and don’t let them be it either. You’ll have so fun, trust me.
==========================================================
2: Remember the 180!
so a lot of people talk bout the 180, and I never got it at first til’ i began looking it up. Basically what it means is that two characters or a scenery should always be presented on being on the same side of the page (unless you had a middle panel showing the 90 degree turn of the subject/people.) Notice how the two characters stay on the same side through the page but the left one. It will help the reader to know who is who, and thats A and B when making a comic! TL;DR: Try to keep everything on the same side at all times unless you show a panel with a 90 degrees turn before going to 180. ==========================================================
3: Ayo snake! you cute as hell
This one’s easy! Imagine a snake slithering over yo page ( it’s a nice snek) and you follow it with your eye. Make your reader follow the snakes path as well! No but seriously; Try to always make panels and compositions so that they point to the next panel! Be it via speech-bubbles or characters or environment. Notice how each panel literally guides you to the next. Character A looks to the right while character B looks down to the left, where her gaze hits the end of that panel which is compositioned to guide you down into the fourth panel, where char A almost points with her eyebrows and arms to the fifth ( which goes from top left to bottom right due to character B’s angle. Then just put speech-bubbles in the path and voila! The snake b slitherin’…wait…..Slytherin…oh…
==========================================================
Sizes are everything
Super easy but some forget; Remember to always have the smaller character be smaller than whats bigger than them. Don’t try to flip around and improvise sizes for the sake of trying to get an impact out of it ( unless they get further and further away). Oft it just messes the reader’s perception of size in the comic if you experiment too much and they get taken out of it early and will just end up reading text on pictures. SO this was just some quick tips, hope yall try these tricks out the next time you make a comic c: cheers <3
Some sample pages from Andrew Loomis’s series on how to draw comics, 1939-1961, concerning perspective and composition. (The changes in font and layout stem from the fact the pages come from different prints.)
I tried to collect the most useful pages, but of course I’m limited to only 10 images per post.
This is a follow-up of sorts of the Disney “how to draw comics” handouts I posted earlier, and which can be found HERE.

How I draw kisses!
A quick tutorial/cheat sheet on how I draw kisses!! I’m going to assume you already know how to draw a head and how to angle it, because that’s an entire procedure in itself. I’m going to focus on mainly the lips and also try and tackle some common mistakes when you’re first starting out.
Pursing the lips
So this is boring but crucial. If you don’t purse, their is no real kiss (take notes) bc placing your lips on top of someone else’s is not how you kiss… The most important part are the corners of the mouth, especially from the side view, because that’s what changes the most.
The actual kissing yeee
Let’s start do a basic side view kiss on the lips. And believe it or not, I think this one is the hardest!
Think about which parts of the face are going to be in front of the other! This can take some time to get the hang of, but once you get that down it’s easy. Also, focus on getting the heads at the right distance and angle. A common mistake is drawing them too close.
The Lightning Shape:
Still keeping in mind which part of the line is “Red’s” upper lip and which part is “Blue’s” lower lip, play around with the shape of the lightning. Very subtle changes can have a very strong impact! I usually go by feel, so take your time, but here are some things to look out for:
Details squishing etc.
So yeah once the lightning shape looks good, I usually add details and squish parts of the face that will touch. Which usually includes the noses, but from this angle they won’t squish unless you intend on making nice big noses <3. By now it should look something like this:
You don’t have to add the corners of the mouth! I usually do when I want to show that the character is smiling.
One technique used a lot in anime/manga + other cartoony art styles, is fading lines where two soft-ish objects press hard against each other. The picture above explains it.
Common mistakes
Getting down the crucial kissing part of fanart is hard and you will mess upp SO MANY TIIIIIIMES, but you learn from your mistakes, so don’t be discouraged. There are some things though that I frequently see when people draw kisses that makes it look awkward and stale, many of which I used to do myself. Here are some examples:
Try your best to avoid these. Most of the mistakes have little to do with the lips and more to do with the angle of the head. So getting that down before you move on to the lips is important.
¾ view Kissing
There are not a lot of angles where you actually see the lips meet (or at least not that I can draw…). Depending on how the heads are placed in relation to each other, you may or may not see the lips in a ¾ view. The way I have demonstrated is done in a way that the nose will bump into the other’s upper cheek.
Aaand that’s about it! These things will make more and more sense the more you draw them. At first it can seem very hard with so many things to keep track of, and it is, but practice makes perfect!
Rule of thumb: does the angle and position of the heads make sense? How are the lips going to align? What parts of the face are going to be in front of the other? How much will the lips purse? And finally, what is going to squish?
Thank you for reading! 😘
