Paramahansa Yogananda
Three systems read Yogananda's chart and agree on exactly one thing: agency. A yang day master, a Human Design Manifestor, Leo rising — every system says a sovereign will that moves first. Then they split three ways on how he decided, drove, and related. The resolution is the paradox of the life: that sovereign will was aimed entirely at dissolving the self. Decisive for himself yet surrendered to the divine — the Manifestor who renounced, the king who abdicated inward.
Receipts
Decision Authority divergence across the systems — In August 1920 he crossed an ocean alone to address Boston's Congress of Religious Liberals, a country he had never seen — instant outward resolve, yet a voyage he undertook only on his guru's blessing, never on his will alone. (source)
Energy Drive divergence across the systems — Autobiography of a Yogi, 1946: institutions on two continents, a flood of books and lectures, three decades of output — all of it funneled toward one inward aim, the direct knowing of God. (source)
Relational Mode divergence across the systems — A celibate monk from his 1915 vows until his death, he never married — yet became spiritual father to a worldwide family. Solitary by structure, magnetic by presence: the bond was always one-to-many, never a pair. (source)
Yang Day Master Yin Yang · Bazi — In 1924 he set out on a cross-continental speaking tour, a foreign monk carrying his teaching across an entire continent on his own initiative — the yang day master's outward thrust, a movement begun rather than awaited. (source)
Manifestor Type · Human Design — He built his own vehicles rather than join any: the Yogoda Satsanga school in India (1917), then Self-Realization Fellowship in Los Angeles (1920). The Manifestor's signature — initiate, inform, never wait to be asked. (source)
Leo Lagna Sign · Jyotish — January 28, 1925: the Los Angeles Philharmonic's 3,000 seats filled and thousands were turned away an hour early, the LA Times marveling that 'Swami Yogananda is the attraction.' Leo lagna — the radiant center a room arranges itself around. (source)
Yang Day Master Yin Yang · Bazi — In July 1915, weeks after graduating, he took irrevocable vows into the Swami order and chose his own monastic name, Yogananda. One decisive, world-renouncing act — no hedging, no slow ripening. (source)
Splenic Authority · Human Design — At seventeen, in 1910, he walked into a Benares lane and instantly knew Sri Yukteswar as the guru of his childhood visions — a wordless, in-the-moment certainty. Splenic authority: the knowing arrives whole, not by deliberation. (source)
Leo Lagna Sign · Jyotish — In 1935 he left a thriving American mission to return to India, by his own account answering his guru's wish to see him once more before the end. The Leo king's decision bent upward — surrendered to a higher bond, not seized. (source)
Water Day Master Element · Bazi — From 1937 he withdrew to the seaside Encinitas hermitage and, over years of quiet evenings, wrote Autobiography of a Yogi there. Water day master: energy as inward flow and contemplative depth, not outward exertion. (source)
Single Definition · Human Design — From his 1920 arrival to his death in 1952, he sustained one unbroken engine — lecturing, training, writing, building — three decades powered from a single consistent source. Single definition: self-contained, needing no second to feel whole. (source)
Vimshottari Current Maha Dasha Lord · Jyotish — His chart opens in a Ketu period of dissolution, and the drive ran toward release: on March 7, 1952, at a Los Angeles banquet, he finished reciting a poem to India and left the body — what his order calls mahasamadhi. (source)
Water Day Master Element · Bazi — In 1935 he met Gandhi at Wardha and initiated him into Kriya Yoga — a relating that crossed every line of creed and nation. Water in relationship: a love that dissolves boundaries rather than drawing them. (source)
Manifestor Type · Human Design — At their first meeting in Kansas City, January 1932, he transmitted to the businessman James Lynn the experience of samadhi — a bond he initiated and a state he conferred in one sitting. The Manifestor's relating begins with him. (source)
Leo Lagna Sign · Jyotish — On August 20, 1950 he dedicated the SRF Lake Shrine before some 1,500 devotees, enshrining a portion of Gandhi's ashes in a wall-less temple to all faiths. Leo lagna in relationship: the warm center a devoted world gathers around. (source)
