Hello, I'm Chili and my favourite animals are foxes (and cats) and Nokto is one of my biggest favourite characters of all time. I have decided to make a post, where I talk about Nokto and his similarities to foxes.
Contains spoilers from: Nokto's main route, Nokto's sequel and Nokto's dream of a beast
(Note that this is how I see Nokto and that I don't know him perfectly. If you disagree with something or want to add something, you can do so! I appreciate it even, since I love knowing more about Nokto. I also haven't read every story there is about him, since I either don't have enough diamonds or didn't play the game at that time. Also, this is more about his connection with foxes, so this isn't a full analyse of how Nokto feels)
Fleeing
Foxes do not really attack humans (except when they are rabid). Even if they are captured or handled, their natural tendency is to flee. Nokto himself doesn't really choose fighting as his first choice. Also, Nokto considers himself as a coward, because he always flees from his problems. He also tries to find ways on how to escape from everything.
In his sequel, he showed us his secret room, that he not only used as a personal storage room, but also as a escape from everything. At night, he also sometimes goes to the library, so maybe that's also an escape for him, after getting nightmares
Basically, just like foxes, Nokto rather flees/escapes from everything
Attachment
Fox only get attached (or close) to few people. To like, one or two people. While Nokto is surrounded by many people, he is definitely heavily attached to MC and Licht.
MC obviously because they share a deep, romantic bond. She helped him feel better and stays by his side. Nokto's smile is now more genuine and he tries his best to make her happy. Because of her, he isn't anymore as lonely as he used to be.
Licht because they are twins, who went through a lot together and their feelings are often even connected to each other. They care deeply about each other, even if they act distant. Nokto has mentioned already in his sequel, that he doesn't just try to make MC happy, but also Licht, because he is very worried about him and afraid he will lose him.
Other people Nokto is close with, but not as attached he is to MC and Licht
Sariel: The card, where the twins sleep next to Sariel, tells me that Sariel cared for them a lot and that the twins trusted him. Sariel was probably like a parent for both of them
Yves: They did spend time together a lot as children. Also, in Nokto's sequel, Yves seemed genuinely happy for Nokto and MC being together. I think that Yves does care about Nokto a lot. After all, he is still his younger brother and there are moments where they get along well
Silvio: Even if it seems like they don't get along, Nokto was one of the few people, who spent time with Silvio as children. Also, they are close enough for Silvio to notice that Nokto has a fake smile, that only disappeared after he got with MC.
The distant relatives in Benitoite: They took care of Nokto, while he was in Benitoite, and it's clear they care deeply about him. They were worried about Nokto, when he barely smiled. They also never reduced Nokto as just a twin. When Nokto returned back to Benitoite, they welcomed him (and MC) and were glad to see him back.
Master Gratto: Nokto's past tutor, who also never reduced Nokto as just a twin. It's clear Nokto feels close to him. It was even important for him, that MC meets him. Master Gratto also acknowledged Nokto's talents and noticed that younger Nokto wasn't feeling well. He is glad that Nokto is now more happy.
Slyness, cunningness, sneaky and clever
Nokto tries to find sneaky ways to solve problems. In his main route, he secretly poisoned himself and the other men in the room, so they will give him the information he wants. While that did put him in danger, he was probably sure that he will succeed. He is also clever when it comes to negotiations.
In his romantic ending, he also did his best to find a good solution to handle the situation between Rhodolite, Obsidian and Jade. For both endings, he let himself being taken hostage, to show Jade that Rhodolite trusts them. In his dramatic ending, where he had to marry a jadean princess, he and the princess found a way on how to trick everyone to call the engagement off.
So in moments, where Nokto doesn't flee, he tries to use tricks and his mind to solve problems.
On top of that, the game potrays him as a good liar, who can see through others.
Solitary
Foxes often live in solitary. Like I mentioned before, Nokto tries to escape from everything and searches for places to be alone. But what he also does, is not talking about how he feels. He keeps an emotional distance between himself and everyone else. Including MC and Licht. He only talks about how he feels, when he gets confronted about it. But a small confrontation is not enough. He doesn't always asks for help and keeps everything inside, acting like everything is fine.
Nokto isolates himself emotionally and tries to handle everything alone.
Foxes and Wolves
While they do inhabit the same area, they prefer to not interact with each other.
Nokto and Licht may live together, but they don't interact anymore as much as they did in the past. There is a distance between them.
Foxes and Cats
Foxes and cats usually also avoid each other. If they do meet, cats usually chase them away.
You can see that as 'Yves and Nokto quarreling'
Fear of foxes
Most people consider foxes as a threat, but they are usually not dangerous. They mostly mean no harm.
Since Nokto is a twin, he is considered a threat, even though he wants to help his kingdom
Hunting skills
Foxes are great hunters and I also heard that Nokto has good hunting skills!
Foxes hunt Rabbits/Bunnies
Like the title says, foxes can be a big threat for rabbits/bunnies, since foxes hunt them.
And Nokto pretty much tricks MC in the beginning or wants to get physically closer with her.
Social animals
Foxes are solitary, but they can also be social!
While Nokto keeps an emotional distance, he often attends gatherings, goes out and interacts a lot with other people

My headcanon of what the previous king of rhodolite; luke and jins mothers looked like:
Warning: This does contain a bit of spoilers about the past king's affairs with women but nothing fatal to the game lore
I always headcanoned jins mother(i think her name was coralie but nvm) as a tanned women because jin is the only prince with a darker skin tone
i also think the kings skin color is the exact same as lukes because lukes mother is said to look too similar to jins mother that the king lost his mind at just the sight of her so i headcanon she has tanned skin as well
luke has grass green eyes and thats the only feature he has thats said to be different from the late kings while jin has wine colored eyes that is mentioned in game is the same as the kings eyes
I think jins mother has lukes grass green eyes thinking how similar she was with lukes mother
So to sum this up;
The previous king has lukes redish hair color and not too pale skin color with jins wine colored eyes
While jins mother and lukes mother have tanned darker skins with green eyes and brown hair hair color
Maybe she does maybe she doesn't this is a headcanon anyway but it would be more fitting if she did thinking there were so similar that king went mad over her
