This is Yukira and I’ve had this tumblr since 2012 so this is very much an old home to me. I’m suffering in pharmacy school for my doctorate and maybe residency so I squeeze what little free time out to draw and do whatever else.

My art is under the #yukira draws tag

Not to be a bitch but sometimes people engage with fiction in the most boring way possible, and nowhere is this clearer than in videogames. Like what you mean you hate a character just because they were kind of abrasive when speaking to the player character? "They were mean to me" and it didn't occur to you to wonder why? Like, what might their attitude toward you reveal about the world? About the social dynamics within it? About their own perspectives and backgrounds and personalities? Does it even occur you to ask? Would you only have liked them if they bowed to your presence and talked about how great you are? Like I'm sorry but you're so boring. How boring fiction would be if it cathered to you

You know what I like doing for 8 hours a day?

Paperwork.

Tasks that are just detail-oriented enough not to be outright boring, but repetitive enough to be easy and low-effort. Emailing people variations of essentially the same stuff over and over again. Sorting files and folders and putting them in filing cabinets. Uploading documents into record-keeping software. Answering phones occasionally. Doing various tasks with a copy machine. That's the kind of thing I can do for 8 hours straight and not be bored to tears or exhausted and wiped out afterwards.

So I got a 9-5 doing that, and save my energy for actually interesting parts of my life that don't have anything to do with making sure I can afford rent and groceries.

Teenage me thought a "boring office job" would be terrible and ruinous and wanted to do something Cool and Important or whatever. Teenage me was stupid. I'm fine with Do Paperwork as a job actually. It's literally fine. There are worse jobs and I've worked several of them.

You know, there's this cliché that teenage boys always eat massive amounts, but teenage girls really aren't that different if they're not suppressed by diet culture and body shaming. Like, I was a teenage girl who frankly just stopped bothering to fit into mainstream beauty ideals at some point, and I would regularly make myself just one big massive pot of pasta and devour it completely. This wasn't even stress eating or anything, I just genuinely needed the energy because you know, I was a teenager and my body was developing. I feel like so many teenage girls think they need to eat as little as possible to be petite and pretty, but the truth is that your body is developing just as intensely as teenage boys' bodies. Eat more, please, your body needs it.

eating more helps speed up the effects of any kind of HRT (even if it doesn’t make you put on weight—and if you struggle putting on weight it’s not your fault but you should see a doctor to find out if anything can be done bc being underweight is more dangerous to ur body than being overweight). eating more helps your body recover after surgery. eating more helps your body and mind feel better, overall.

and there’s no shame in it if you need the food bank, food stamps, generosity of others in any way. get what resources you can. just please eat
