Tried something new painting this one, to varying degrees of success. Not super crazy about the method or results, it works better for sunny scenes I think, but I did learn some things that I'll incorporate into my go-to method.

Question, what's your favorite colors on Id— pinkette like the portrait, combat sprites, & FFBE sprites? or closer to a blood-redhead like in the animated cutscenes, overworld sprites, & (especially so) how some like to paint him in fanart? (i like my violent angry boy as a pinkette)

Also sketched Maru-chan this morning 😌 She's so cute, I love her big hat. Her design is so good

I love Id's combat animations so much.

Where Fei has a lot of scrappy, light-on-his-feet muscle-memory power behind his martial arts, Id has so much elegant fluidity & finesse with his kicks & spins and this pose embodies that for me. I've wanted to draw something like this for a while.

Id's animations themselves don't feel as heavy hitting, like you don't feel the SLAP like you do with Fei's animations bc Id's movements glide and flow so smoothly from one movement into the other, but once you see the damage numbers you're like OOF IM SORRY ELLY 😭😂
