Tell us a little about yourself.
Iām freelance photographer from Ukraine. Currently living in Moscow.
When did you start taking photos?
It was about 10 years agoā¦
What type of camera(s) do you shoot with?
Mostly I use Pentax k5, Sony Cyber-Shot and iPhone.
What makes the good picture stand out from the average?
Itās a question of millimeters, as Cartier-Bresson says. And I agree. Good composition and harmony are important.Ā
Where do you find your models and how do you approach them?
Some of them are my friends or friends of my friends. Many people contact me, asking to be my models. I also use social media.
Many photographers like to do spontaneous shoots in terms of location and lighting. Do you plan your shoots or do you make decisions on the spot?
I hate planing shoots, itās not a drawing. I have power to stop a unique moment of life with the help of my camera and eyes, itās much more interesting.
Do you have a favourite photography website/magazine?
www.magnumphotos.com
What would be some tips you would give to a beginning portrait photographer?
I need some tips too:) Portrait is a very serious genre. You should be a good listener and psychologist. Also I use love. I love people Iām shooting, even if itās the first time I see them.Ā
How would you describe your style?
Дraving for truth and freedom.
What does photography mean to you?
Photography is an opportunity not to say anything.Ā
What are you working on at the moment?
Iām exploring Moscow with my camera, I want to have and album of street and documentary photographs from this awesome city. Yesterday I had an idea about a series of portraits. I think Iāll make it happen in Autumn.
